5 Ways to Wear a Romper

fivewaystowearromper

So I bought this romper back in July, and I haven’t been sure how to wear it out and about. I wasn’t sure whether I was “cool” enough to be a romper wearing girl. Then I got to thinking about it even more, and there are a MILLION places that a romper is acceptable for. I pulled looks together for five of those places, and I hope to do another feature like this soon, but please let me know if you like it or not!

1. Going Out
rgoingoutTarget romper, crystal/tortoise necklace, thrifted purse (similar), and Target dress sandals

Adding a mix of brown and black keeps it more interesting that an all-black look, and the heeled sandals and crystal (spaaaarrkle) necklace definitely dress it up a notch. Perfect for a date night look or drinks with the girls.

2. Siteseeing
rsiteseeingTarget romper, Target baseball cap, Eddie Bauer jean jacket (similar), polka dote tote bag, and white Converse sneakers

Perfect for exploring a new city (or even your own hometown). Throw on the hat to keep the sun out of your eyes and wear the jacket for those early morning and evening chills. Carry your large tote bag to carry your maps, tickets, and water bottle (plus the dots makes for a pop of pattern) and wear your best walking shoes (always sneakers for me!).

3. Beach
rbeachTarget romper, Target bikini top, Old Navy promotional tote (similar), and Old Navy flip flops

What is classier than a romper as a swimsuit cover up? One piece and it’s easy on and off for those beach moments! Only thing I would add? A sweet pair of shades!

4. Brunch
rbrunchTarget romper, thrifted necklaces (similar), local coffee pouch (similar), and Target espadrille wedges

I always want to look halfway decent for brunch (especially at the fancier brunch joints here in Indianapolis). Adding a pair of wedges amps the look, and a fun set of patterned necklaces and a vintage style postage clutch gives it a playful vibe, which plays off nicely with the playful romper style.

5. Farmers Market
rfarmersmarketTarget romper, Old Navy utility vest, Target neon yellow crossbody (similar), and oxfords (similar)

Perfect for the summer fun of a farmers market! The vest, oxfords, and a fun pop of neon from the crossbody makes this a casual look. This is probably my favorite one of all 5!

So there you have it! Five ways to rock a romper without looking like an adult baby! :) Which one is your favorite?

  • Sarah Simpson

Ah! You make me want a romper so bad. I keep telling myself I’m too tall, but you’re the same height as me so that’s a poor excuse. And it’s on clearance, so tempting!

    • Dooooo it. I promise it is not too short, and it has a drawstring waist, so perfect for making you not look weirdly shaped (man, am I selling this or what?)!

  • I’m definitely not cool enough to do romper wearing, but I love it on you. And OF COURSE with the denim jacket and utility vest, because those seriously look great with everything.

    • You are definitely cool enough! And seriously…this vest is the BEST. I’m still on the fence whether I need a better fitting denim jacket, but this one will do for now. Thanks Anne!

  • I think the green utility vest outfit is my favorite! Although the siteseeing outfit is just as cute- you can definitely pull off a romper well! All the ones I’ve tried on (many) apparently don’t fit well because they’re always too short and riding up. /: Still waiting for the Cinderella moment!

    • I feel the same way about most rompers (and still can’t get over the whole bathroom issue), but this one was super soft and super drapey, so I just fell in love with it. Hope you can find yours! So versatile!

  • I love the brunch and farmer’s market outfits!! So cute!
