Fall Capsule #1: Wolverine Fashion Night Out

A month or so ago, Tieka from Selective Potential, reached out on her Instagram to see if anyone in the Michigan area wanted to attend a blog event with Wolverine 1000 Mile boot company. I responded that if she needed an Indiana girl that I would be more than happy to show up. Well, I got invited and the rest was history!

I drove up to Grand Rapids Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, MI, for the Wolverine Fashion Night Out event. The venue matched the boots perfectly and was a great atmosphere (plus, they had grilled cheese BLTs on the buffet…umm, yummmm).

I knew NO ONE there and this was my first blogging event, so I was a little out of place at first. Eventually, I couldn’t take any more Instagram pictures of boots, so I headed over to a group of three friendly-looking girls and literally asked them if I could join their conversation. The good news? They said yes.

The better news? They were beyond nice and made the event. Blog friends are the best, because they get IT. We talked all night, exchanged business cards, ate many delightful appetizers, snapped some cute photos, and scored some free boots.  So a big, big THANK YOU to Wolverine and Tieka of Selective Potential for having me. I had a great time!

And this is what I ended up wearing…I knew I had to stick to the Fall Capsule, I wanted to wear boots, and I definitely wanted to look a little bit more “style blogger” than I normally look. And it was a bit cold…soooo dress, scarf, belt, socks, and the most perfect ankle boots it was.

ps. Big thanks to Julie of The Girl in Red Shoes, Julie of Whimsy and Wild, and Lena of A Tiny Painter for letting me crash your cocktail table and steal some of your photos. I also loved meeting Naomi of Make It Up Style DIY and Melissa from The Bee’s Knees. You all rock and are so nice to welcome a Hoosier into your state!

Outfit 16

  • Fun. And cuuute. Great dress and love the socks with ankle boots. A new thing to copy and try :)

  • I love this outfit! 100%! Red is fabulous on you! Blogger events are so fun and it’s even better when you meet people that you connect with!

  • Thanks for the shout out! It was great to be able to stop and talk to you and the other girls for awhile and put names and faces to your blogs:) I visit South Bend quite a bit to visit my sister, so if that’s the part of Indiana you’re from we should meet up again there, or whenever the next time you’re in Grand rapids!

  • I’m just seeing this for some reason, but it was definitely the right choice for the event. I love it from head to toe!
