Fall Capsule #1: Graphic Tee and Plaid

DSC077741DSC077841DSC077751DSC077811DSC077791DSC077801

This was my runner up outfit to wear to the Wolverine Fashion Night Out event. You know those events where nothing in your closet seems and on top of that, you’re working with your Capsule wardrobe. So you’re trying every single one of those 44 items on and they’re all over your closet floor.

Or is that just me?

But in the end, that darn super soft plaid scarf beat out this plaid skirt. And I didn’t want to get kicked out of the state of Michigan by wearing my Indiana Home T!

But this look would also be great for a creative office, because the plaid pencil skirt keeps it classy, and the pop of red and the graphic tee keeps it quirky casual.

What would you wear to a blog/brand event?

ps. Weird question, but it’s driving me crazy…A million and one new visitors came from a Facebook link yesterday. I’m so happy to have you all, but can any of you tell me what awesome person/group linked to this site? Thanks!

I really like the way you’ve combined the different pieces in this look – I definitely wouldn’t have thought of combining them!

  • I love these state tees! I just don’t know which state I would get since I grew up in Kansas, but that’s not really home anymore. Anyway, I also love the graphic tee and pencil skirt together. Casual meets classy!

I really love this outfit, but I’m glad you went with the other one for your blogging event. That said, I desperately need a plaid pencil skirt now. I’d love to wear one to work! (Maybe for my next capsule??)

  • I love this! I would wear this to my office. It’s not a creative environment, but you can’t stifle a creative person. I like the colors in the skirt so much with the red. Great choice. I would probably wear a dress, but I wear dresses to almost everything! lol.

  • This look is so cute! I’ve been trying to find a red plaid pencil skirt to wear with a graphic tee – too bad the Target one doesn’t come in a red color! Love your blog. We’re in Indy too, and we’d love to collaborate sometime!
