Fall Capsule #1: Horsing Around (Again)

Guys, I’m officially a style blogger now! I bought a used, but still fancy “style blogger lens” (aka a 50mm f/1.8 Mid-Range Lens) one and half weeks ago, and I’m slowly but surely learning how to use it.

I shot about 3 outfits before I think I figured out some of the tricks, so the next couple of outfit photos might be a bit overexposed (read super white and light), so bear with me.  I’m really hoping that this takes my blog to the next level, plus it’s kind of fun to figure stuff out like that (I think? ;)).

Anyways, the browns and navys of this outfit were calling my name one early morning in my closet, so I had to give in and let them hang out together.

ps. Any tips and tricks on working with this type of lens?

Outfit 53

  • That horse sweater looks great!

  • Cute outfit! I have the Canon version of that lens and it’s awesome!! It does take some getting used to, but it takes fantastic pictures! It doesn’t focus well on things that are very close, but everything else it does great! Good luck! :)

  • Love the horse sweater. Need to share with my Kentucky family. Saw a precious horse shoe scarf on sale at Charming Charlie’s today. Guess the equestrian inspiration is all the rage. Cute outfit!!

  • What is this lens you speak of?! I became “official” a year and a half ago by getting a DSLR but I didn’t know that I was supposed to use a particular lens to be ultra official :) I do finally at least know how to use the camera in manual mode, though I haven’t figured out how to do so while also using a tripod/remote to do my own outfit photos, so it’s default lens and auto mode for me. (Same even if I get my husband to snap the photos – he’s a disaster in manual mode, ha.)
