November 2014 Budget

November, November, November. I didn’t know whether to write this post before or after Black Friday, since I wasn’t sure how much “cheating” I was going to do due to the crazy sales.

The answer? Before and probably a whole lot on Friday (we shall see in December’s budget)!

Check out November’s budget below to see the damage:

+ H&M Aztec Print Oversized Scarf – $18 ($18 originally – here – I bought this in Chicago when we were there for The Husband’s birthday, necessary for the cold weather and the perfect print for me!)
+ Old Navy Black Cable Knit Pom Pom Hat/Beanie – $10 ($14.94 originally – some crazy 35% ON sale – here)
+ TOMS for Target Arrow Print Clutch – $20 ($20 originally in stores – here)
+ Merona Cognac Crossbody Purse – $22.50 ($45 originally – here….I want the black one now too and debated them both on Instagram…you lovely followers picked brown, and you were right…love this purse!)

Total Spent Before Black Friday: $139.50

Goal: $200
Amount Under/Over: +$60.50 = $200 – $139.50
Total Saved: $196.50= $336 (if not on sale) – $139.50
Item Count: 8
Carryover to Next Month: $174.30 = $113.80 + $60.50

Not Pictured:
+ anything bought on Black Friday (though I will try to do a post about what I got so you can grab anything you like for yourself). I’ve got my eye on this sweater (too cute and 50% off right now!) and this dress (fingers crossed it is part of Target’s sale).

I’m loving the accessories I bought this month and stuck to my plan of no clothing/shoes this month. Plus, I’m okay with the damage I plan to do during Black Friday, because it is one of those “magical” times to shop, and I love a good deal (plus, 40% apparel at Target only happens a few times per year).

Again, I did add some more outerwear items, specifically this vest from Poshmark (see similar here or here), another Old Navy coat from Poshmark (leopard print!; similar to this one), and this vest from Old Navy that I don’t add into my budget. Please see last month’s budget post (here) for an explanation on that. I also was feeling low about my now-defunct J.Crew Factory coat order, so when Target released their 30% off outerwear Cartwheel deal (good today too), I scored this bad boy!

I still can’t think of anything else that I might need for the rest of the year (that’s what I said last month), and I’m still on a shopping ban of clothes and shoes until Christmas.

Anything you’re looking to grab before the year is over or during Black Friday?

  • Ha, Black Friday is pretty much turning into a month of its own anyway… Love that patterned scarf and the color block bag – you find the best accessories!

  • Mattie Roush

We might just be Old Navy vest soulmates. I was obsessed with the red-orange quilted vest from there and asked for/got it for my birthday (actually wearing it right now) and I’m also obsessed with that plaid one and asked for it for Christmas…fingers crossed it was bought for me because they’re out of my size online now!

  • Black Friday and Boxing Day are borderline shopping months of their own that deserve separate roundups…

  • Black Friday never counts in the budget for me. It’s one of those shopping days that I always participate in and don’t really count what I get in my budget. though I always like to see the savings. Also I don’t know how you’re resisting the amazing TOMSxTarget stuff. This is my favorite collaboration in a while.

  • You got some awesome winter accessories! Love those hats!

  • You did great this month! I want all your purses! Also, that lovely polka dot Target jacket was on sale on Thursday and then when I woke up Friday morning to buy it, the 40% was gone! ;(

  • Sarah H.

Great Poshmark find! I decided not to include Black Friday purchases this month…but I WILL count them toward December’s budget, I promise :)
