Friends in High Places

‘Cause I got friends in HIGH places…

Just a standard twist on an old Garth Brooks classic. I’m super excited, because tonight I am meeting up with a group of lovely Indianapolis style bloggers for our very first (I think) meet and greet! We’re also trying out a restaurant that has been on my list to try for some time, so it’s a double whammy of fun.

There are few things that I like better than new friends, style, and food (especially guacamole and chips), so I guess that’s why I’m excited. Plus, it is SO. HARD. to make new friends as an adult (does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?).

So while I’m well aware this won’t be like a Lifetime movie about friendship, where the waiter kicks us out of the restaurant because we’re all braiding each other’s hair at the table, I’m still excited to meet some friends and enjoy some guac (and I might even wear this skirt…again…this week)!

  • I wish there were other style bloggers in the Athens and Atlanta areas that were closer to my playing game. Pittsburg, Charlotte, and now your little area. All the coolest little blogger pockets.

  • Totally agree that making friends as an adult is crazy hard! Sometimes I feel like the only one who doesn’t have a zillion friends to hang with on the weekends!

    • Completely agree, Caroline! We just need to have a bigger blogger meetup somewhere and do brunch! ;)

I love how your infinity scarf looks here. One of my resolutions this year is to use more of the scarves I already own (that being said, I just purchased another Target one yesterday!). Some of the larger knit infinity scarves can be so bulky. Do you have a trick? How did you get this one to look so cute? I’m looking for advice on how to make my infinity scarves work better. Thanks!

    • Katherine…I actually don’t have any good tips other than keeping the rest of your outfit pretty sleek (fitted top, pretty fitted skirt, and tights). On this one, I just wrapped it around twice and kind of fluffed it around until I liked the way it looked. If you twist it around a little bit, it kind of will lay like how it does here. Hope that helps? Maybe some day I can do a tutorial on it or something!

Amen to having a hard time making friends as an adult. Thank goodness for some blogging friendships I’ve made! And yay to that food, there sure isn’t a shortage of yummy eats in Indy!
