10 Things Tuesday (1.13.15)

Ten Things I’ve Loved This Past Week on The Internet:

  1. If you have not listened to Serial (yes, I just finished, and yes, I’m way behind the times), then you need to…so we can talk about it!
  2. I’m also recently obsessed with The Clothes Horse, a blog that my bestie, B, told me about. It’s a great mix of vintage and budget-friendly stores, and I can’t get over Rebecca’s amazing photography. I’ve never seen blog photos like hers! I’m currently reading through her archives, which in my opinion, is the best compliment you can give a blogger.
  3. Any bets on whether this dress (in the cream print) would be long enough for me? Because other than that…it is perfect (for both winter and spring)!
  4. 20% of the year, this comic is how I feel about living in Indiana.
  5. Recipe of the week: I’ve been craving chicken noodle soup (all soup really) lately, so I might just have to try to make my own some day this week.
  6. These ladies are NOT happy about the Lilly Pulitzer collaboration at Target (but I am!). I’m not sure they really understand the word “classy.”
  7. This midi skirt will be mine before spring hits. Mark my words.
  8. Want to know why super successful people (aka Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg) wear the same thing every. single. day? The answer is simplicity. You won’t see that here (how awkward would that style blog be?), but it is super interesting.
  9. Dads Acting Like Fashion Bloggers on Instagram. I should be offended, but I can’t stop laughing long enough to feel that way.
  10. This shirt kills me…I like/love/know football, and I still want it! Perfect for this time of year (National Football League playoffs)!

  • On Target item: Mossimo Supply Co. Red/Black Flannel Shirt (exact – from the Men’s dept!; similar women options below)
  • Beanie: Old Navy (Fall 2014; similar 1, similar 2)
  • Vest: Rafaella (exact)
  • Watch: Timex (gift from The Husband; exact)
  • Jeans: Denizen, Target (exact)
  • Socks: Target (Winter 2013; similar)
  • Boots: LL Bean (thrifted; super similar)

  • Mattie Roush

Oh man, those Lilly fans are hilarious. I honestly usually think LP’s stuff is TOO bright and crazy and preppy for me, so I’d never spend the money that the regular line costs. If Target has some that aren’t insane, I might actually consider it.

Also, I think I might have to get that midi skirt too! I’ve been wanting one forever and either haven’t found or have missed out on any that I like!

    • Mattie – I completely agree about your Lilly comment. I’m excited to see the Target prints and for people who can’t/won’t buy the normal Lilly stuff to have the opportunity to own a similar piece. And they’re making it in plus sizes, which Lilly has never been offered in before. Fashion and style should really be for everyone! :)

  • thrifted ll bean boots?! you lucky duck!! and i wrote a post about my fascination with serial not too long ago, we should definitely get a discussion going in the comments. i still think about it all the time! looking forward to checking out some of your other links here!

    • Ooooo Heidi! I must have missed that post…I’ll have to go back and find it and read and then post a lot of annoying things about Serial on it! ;)

  • Serial is amazing. It really makes you think and people have such firm opinions about it. That dress is so pretty (the target one) but it does look short.

    • It’s the best really, and I’ll keep everyone posted on the dress, but I completely agree, might be a little short!

  • OMG Serial! Crazy podcast! It made me think so much more about the justice system and the fact that the truths these lawyers tell you are just A truth and not THE truth. Obvious I know, but still it’s horrible when you really think about it.

  • Being behind the times on Serial was actually kind of nice – it’s like Netflix binge watching getting it all at once instead of having to wait for a new episode. And man, did I get hooked.

Love your vest styling, as usual. Such a nice and cozy pattern mix! Love it with the boots & hat too. I guess we just have to go with winter and not fight it – it can be pretty cute, turns out :) If only we could find a cute way to keep the cold air off of our faces.

    • I completely agree, it’s like when there is a marathon of your favorite show on too! I can’t wait for the next season, but I might have to hold out until they are all aired again!

      Ps. Winter is the worst.

  • Kristin Eveland

I am on episode 4 of Serial, SO addicted! I try to listen to it only when I run to savor it, lol.

    • Kristin – I tried that too, and then drove 2.5 hours to IL and back by myself and somehow it just started up on the drive?! ;) Good luck savoring it!

I laughed for a good 10 minutes at Dads Acting Like Fashion Bloggers.
