On Trend: Luxe Look Purses

I’ve been on a purse kick lately (wait until you see my February budget), but not just any purses. Purses that look expensive while remaining….well….affordable?

I’m a big believer in not spending a ton of purses, because I’d rather that purse carry around the money instead of display it?

The one time I did spend over $50 on a purse, it was my Madewell mini transport purse. I bought it as a birthday present to myself and let’s just say I can’t be trusted with nice things. I also like to have a variety of colors and patterns to wear with all my various outfits, so I like a good assortment of purses. So I’ll spend $10-50 on purses, but not much more.

I know that a lot of you may disagree with this theory (and that’s okay!), but let’s try to have our cake and eat it too? I think all the above bags have a luxe look to them (details, material, etc.), and they’re all under $50! Win-win!

  • Target has amped up its purse game lately–they have so many cute options for spring! I’m with you on not spending a ton on purses, as I tend to beat them up pretty badly.

I understand your not wanting to spend too much on purses, I think the classic bags that last forever and that you can pass down to your daughter type thing, are in the four digit range. Even if I had the money… But I also think amazing bags (and shoes) are almost like coats, you can wear them with several different outfits so to me it’s worth to spend just a little bit more and have a little less (ie. quality vs quantity). So while I love Target for clothes and other accessories, I find that for the most part their purses look cheap in real life! Sorry! Well, your selection above looks cute, maybe I’ll give it another shot.

I always see Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs purses and think, “I will save my money and own one some day.” But then I think about all the other stuff I could buy with that crazy amount of money.

I’m loving the green one and also the navy/white stripe one…I’m always nervous about light colors though because my dark jeans rub off no matter how many times they’ve been washed!
