Color in Winter

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I spent mine in New Orleans stuffing my face with etouffee and beignets and trying to walk it all off before the cruise started! (Oh and obsessing over the ending of the Super Bowl…holy cats!)

I showcased my winter essentials in this post last month, but I feel like that post left a lot of color out. I think color is super important in outfits, but especially in winter, when a little burst of color can make a big difference in your mood.

Take this hat for example…I have COUNTLESS pom-pom beanies, but I still had to have this one, because you have no idea how much joy I get from wearing this sunshine yellow beanie.

And that little pep in my step is sometimes needed to push me out the door into the winter tundra of Indiana.

  • I love the matching hat and bag! So cute!

I just got that bag in hot (and I mean HOT) pink. Now I kinda want a hot pink beanie to go with it :)

  • Totally with you on the pops of color for our dreary midwest winters… LOVE how the yellow hat/bag bring out the little bit of yellow in the scarf that I hadn’t even noticed before. Also love how you can just go crazy with color in accessories because in the midwest you can totally justify having about 12 pairs of mittens and hats – so you can always have something that goes with a different bag or scarf or whatever and keep things fresh, since you’re wearing your coat all day everyday. Speaking of which, I think I need to add those mittens to my collection.

  • Soo cute! I love those mittens! And the fun yellow bag reminds us all that it’s not always winter here!

Seeing someone with fabulous yellow accessories would totally make my day! I almost never remember to wear a hat, but maybe mine just isn’t cheery enough :)
