Holy moly blue budget! A little bit over on the dollar amount, and a little bit over on the blue quota for the month! It’s no question that I love me some shades of blue, but this might be a little bit ridiculous even for me (just kidding…never enough blue)! Oddly enough, I ended up getting two blue outerwear items too (J.Crew Factory quilted puffer vest – no longer available – and this Merona denim jacket that I can’t stop wearing). So maybe next month, I’ll be able to cool it on the blue.

And yes, sure I spend a lot, but overall I saved more than I spent, so that’s a bonus. Those dang flash sales and free shipping requirements really get me, because then I end up loving all the things that I ordered to meet the free shipping minimum. The circle of life in budget style blogging, I guess?

In May, I’m hoping to add some more non-pencil skirts to my wardrobe (hello this beauty), and I also love this palm frond sweater from Loft (perfect for summer). I’m also debating about whether I  need to upgrade my navy purse…to one that actually looks navy. I’m still in love with this one from J.Crew, but I haven’t pushed the purchase button yet. Does anyone have good experience with J.Crew purses?

How did you do this month? I’m linking up with Franish’s Budgeting Bloggers, and you should too!

  • I know what you mean about the navy…I’ve been forcing myself lately to branch out!

  • Love the two skirts you got! Oh, and I SO know what you mean about those flash sales and free shipping offers being so tempting!

  • I’m not sure if you read the blog Cornflake Dreams, but she purchased that J.Crew purse and wasn’t thrilled with it. She said it felt cheap, which is such a bummer because I love how refined it is.

And there’s that adorable scarf I fell in love with on Insta!

  • Love the print on that blue skirt!

  • My closet is mostly blue, so no judgement there at all. I always count it a good month if I save more than I spend. Those leopard flats are the same ones I bought that I haven’t been able to take off unless it’s raining and I choose to wear my rain boots. I love them! Good choices all around.

Lately I’ve also been obsessed with blue. I really like the Mossimo fit and flare dress and you styled it really well! The bedrock skirt is also very nice.

  • Haha, I am the same way regarding blue! I got a bunch this month, too. :) Never enough, I say! You got some amazing pieces. I think I shopped the same LOFT sales as you; I can never seem to resist 70% off!
