Fall Capsule #1: Orange You Glad

Today’s fun highlights:

  • This orange peacoat makes everything better.
  • Off today (and the rest of the Fridays in 2014). Hip hip hooray!
  • Some of our Christmas presents got wrapped this week (thanks to Thursday night football), and I can’t wait to spend some time with my loved ones the next two weekends.
  • The Puppy (Cooper) has been extra cuddly this week, and we’ve been playing many rounds of his favorite game, “Hide and Seek.” Basically, we throw his stuffed toy (which we call a “baby”, don’t judge us too much if you hear us say “Go get us a baby”) up or down a set of stairs and then hide. He runs, gets the toy, and then tries to find us. It’s hilarious if he can’t find you and extra cute when he does, because he’s so proud and happy. That pup is a keeper for sure!
  • Almost everything I bought from Target.com during Black Friday was a major flop, which is sad because it was a cheat day on my no-spending ban, but good in the fact that I’m not just “settling” for items. I’m slowly but surely learning what I like and what looks good. Yay! One thing I did love? This plaid sweater (just $12 this week!).
  • 64 outfits down. 9 to go! I’m only pushing through to the end because I hate quitters.
Today’s not-so-fun highlights:
  • After last weekend’s expensive car tune ups (The Husband ended up having notable issues with his brakes), I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. I’m also a big baby, and my mom made my dentist appointment for me. #perpetually12

Happy weekend, friends! What are you up to?

Fall Capsule #1: Red-dy, Set, Blue

Gah! It’s no secret here, but I’m mad for any red/blue combination.

I saw this red and navy blue stripe tee from Target right before my capsule challenge started, and I had to have it. It’s everything I want from a shirt: comfy, perfect color combination, striped and cheaply priced, but not cheaply made.

The boatneck tees from Target are my favorites, so be sure to check them out. I’d wait for a sale though, because their regular price ($12) is a little steep, but this week, you can nab them for $8, which is much better. Because then you can get three for the price of two normally. Shopping math is my favorite.

Fall Capsule #1: Fur Get About It

The best/cheesiest thing I do all day is try to come up with post titles. Because I’m all about the puns, ’bout those puns, no treble (insert Meghan Trainor’s song, “All About the Bass” here), and there’s nothing I love more than a little word play action. Hope you can handle that if you’re new to the blog!

In other news, this outfit was pretty much ripped right off the back of the lovely See Jane (thanks Anna Jane!). See her original look here, and ask her where I can find an awesome stairwell to take photos in during this terrible cold and drizzly weather we’re having here in Indiana.

Good news? A faux fur scarf (scored on major sale last year, but there’s one below for under $15!) and a warm, cozy sweater help to beat the winter drizzle blues. Which I’m already having. Because I’m a big baby.

Fall Capsule #1: No Dots About It

Not dots about it, I love this coat. It’s warm. It’s ladylike. It’s a chic color combination (hello black and white) that goes with anything. Annnnd it’s polka dotted, which is one of my favorite patterns. Plus, right now, you can get it for $50! That means that if you wear it only TWO times per week for a fourth of only one year (13 weeks – hello Midwest winter), it equals to about $2 cost per wear. And if you do that for two years, that’s $1 per wear. Preeeeettty great.

And yes, after debating the color options of this purse (black versus brown) on Instagram (here), you all convinced me to get the brown. Well I loved the brown so much (y’all are always right), that when I saw the black on sale for $13.50 at my local Target (and only one left!!), I had to get it. So yes, I’m set on purses for a bit.

This weekend, we ended up seeing Interstellar, which I was NOT a fan of. I love me some Anne Hathaway, but it’s nearly a 3-hour movie and has very little “give back.” I can’t tell you a bunch more without ruining anything for you, but let’s just say…not going to watch it again!

How about you all? Do anything fun this weekend? See about BETTER movies?

Fall Capsule #1: Graphic Sweater, Winter Style

Today’s fun highlights:

  • This outfit was great in the fall (here)…and even better in the winter.
  • Off today (and the rest of the Fridays in 2014). Hip hip hooray!
  • Trying to keep it chill this weekend. We’ve been so go-go-go in November that I’m looking forward to a weekend at home with the puppy and The Husband…and probably some Chick-N-Minis!
  • We booked a cruise through Carnival for February through a killer Cyber Monday deal! I. Can’t. Wait.
  • You can still enter my holiday giveaway on Instagram. Just follow me (here) and follow the directions on the giveaway picture! Someone is going to win…might as well be you! :)
  • “With bargains in their heads and fire in their eyes.” Please tell me you’ve seen this video. This pretty much describes my entire shopping strategy at Target (it’s almost like he knows me)!
  • Speaking of Black Friday, I’m slowly receiving my Black Friday cheats scores. This sweater is my favorite so far, yhough all of you on Instagram seemed to love this watch a ton too!
  • 60 outfits down. 14 to go! That doesn’t seem like much. Full closet of sweater and other ankle boots, I’ll be there soon!
Today’s not-so-fun highlights:
  • I can barely take photos without wearing a coat. Winter weather has arrived, friends.
  • Oil change weekend here for The Husband and I.

Happy weekend, friends! What are you up to?
