Save or Splurge?, Vol. 14: Camo Print Jacket

Save or Splurge? is a post where I’ll show you an item from Target and its higher end cousin.

I don’t think I’ve ever rocked the camo print trend (nor will I probably ever – but never ever say never, right?), but the jacket on the right stopped my rampant scrolling on Target’s website one evening. It’s a classic, structured jacket with stud detailing and a on trend print. Enter this Save or Splurge face off. On the left is Madewell’s Outbound Jacket (here) and retails for $98. The Target version (on the right, here) sells for $40 and is from the brand, Coffee Shop.

Over half the price in savings, and I actually like the print on the Target version better. Done and done.

Save or Splurge?, Vol. 13: Red Ankle Pants

I don’t wear my red jeans enough. I love how they add a pop of color to an outfit while still keeping it from looking too crazy. Finding a good pair of red pants for the office isn’t the easiest task, but I think red ankle pants are perfect for that area. Enter this Save or Splurge face off. On the left are the Addie Pant from Ralph Lauren’s Black Label (here). These bad boys are selling for $698. The similar pair on the right from Target (here)? $28! They currently have these in 6 different colors and a few print options.

I’m on board with a trendy item (in one of my favorite colors) for was less. How about you?

Save or Splurge?, Vol. 12: Mint Satchels

Finding a mint “item” was on my 2014 Wishlist, so I have been keeping my eye peeled for things that I like that are mint. That’s how I spotted this beaut of a purse online at Target.com (on the right, here). Traditional satchel shape, but in a spring-y mint color that is quite on trend right now. And you can’t really beat the $40 for a brand new bag. The classic look of the purse made me think of this mint leather version from Fossil (on the left, here) that retails for $178.

Both are gorgeous mint shades (though the Target one leans towards aqua), so you can’t really go wrong. The fact that this is such a “trend bag” makes me lean to the Target version, but then again…that is usually the case.

So I loved this bag and didn’t want anyone to miss out on such a great STEAL that I am also showcasing it in the weekly Save or Splurge post. For more information about this bag, check out this post with a full review.

If you’re like me and lusting after ever other style blogger’s Madewell Transport Tote (Lucky magazine calls it the tote that’s taking over the world in this article), but don’t have $168, check out this Save at your local Target for $35 (here).

Are you sick of this bag yet or have you purchased it?!

Save or Splurge?, Vol. 10: Snakeskin Pumps

So this week is officially spring, right? Thank goodness. I’m ready to wear shoes that aren’t ankle boots, and these snakeskin pumps are at the top of my list to wear this spring. I think snakeskin print has been so “in” for the last season and I can see it trickling into spring with light shades, like this gray/black/white version seen above. The pumps on the left are done by Manolo Blahnik (buy them here) and run about $865. I picked up the ones on the right recently from Target (get them here), and they are regularly $30.

I love the slim stiletto of the Manolo Blahnik that they are so well known for, but there is something about the price tag that I just can’t swallow. They sure are pretty to look at, but so are my pair from Target!
