Gift Guide for the Globe Trotter

Fifth Gift Guide here on Style On Target and only three more to go in the series after this one!  I’ll be posting a gift guide for a specific individual that you might be having some trouble shopping for. I’m going to try to keep all the gifts under $50 for sure and hopefully the majority of them in the $25-30 range. Most of the items will be from Target (because I honestly love the heck out of that place), but if I find something I truly love elsewhere, it’ll be thrown in there too!

In case you missed them…

And here we go with this week’s guide!

On Trend: Mad for Plaid

mad for plaid 2016; Style On Target blog

I haven’t done an On Trend post in awhile, and the other day at work, I was talking with a coworker about how much I loved her new black tartan pants. We both came to the consensus that we’re mad for plaid right now and so are a bunch of retailers. It could be that time of year, but it also could be that plaid is quite possibly one of the best patterns out there.

Why you might ask? Because unlike stripes, polka dots, gingham, etc., plaid usually combines more than two colors, which means it enhances the number of outfit combinations you can create with all the other items in your closet.

You might have 99 other problems going on, but at least remixing with plaid ain’t one. I mean that’s what Jay-Z and I always say…;)

Check out Jay-Z’s my current favorite plaid items below. And get mad for plaid…especially since I scored this gorgeous new plaid coat for my Winter 2016 coat (and yes, it is as gorgeous in real life) and will be wearing it as much as possible this winter!

ps. Fun fact (from my J.Crew winter catalog): Did you know that the Black Watch tartan is named for the Black Watch, a regiment formed in 1725 to guard the Scottish Highlands. They did it in kilts, too!

pps. The Thanksgiving/Black Friday sales have already started, and most of this plaid is included! J.Crew is having a rare 40% off sale (here – yes, I ordered everything) and J.Crew Factory has everything marked 50-60% off. Ready, set, shop!
