What I Wish I Wore, Vol. 5

*So a feature that I am going to run on Wednesdays (possibly along with a daily outfit post) is called “What I Wish I Wore Wednesday.” I’ll be piecing together an outfit on Polyvore (which I have never used before blogging, but I really like it) with all Target items to show you what I wish I was wearing and just how easy it is too look cute on a budget.

WIWIW Wednesdays have turned into real life fantasies for me. Like, I honestly wish this stuff would appear in my closet overnight on Tuesdays and be hanging and ready to be worn the next day. Alas, no magic closet elves are making that happen (though it should, it is the most magical time of the year, right?). So I’m stuck with making these fantasy Polyvore collages.

I called this one Dot Party, and I wish that was a phrase that would catch on: “Oh, look at Katie, she’s wearing so many polka dots that I am seeing spots! She’s rocking that Dot Party!” In my mind that sounded way cooler than it actually was. Today’s look pairs a sweater that I bought prior to going on my December shopping ban (see it in a haul post here) and a beautiful mint/seafoam green skirt that I unfortunately do not own (thanks closet elves!). Add in some polka dot tights and some chunky heels and you have a work appropriate outfit or even one for a girls date or date night!

Would you rock the double dots for your own Dot Party? Let me know in the comments!

Stripes and Snakes
*So a feature that I am going to run on Wednesdays (possibly along with a daily outfit post) is called “What I Wish I Wore Wednesday.” I’ll be piecing together an outfit on Polyvore (which I have never used before blogging, but I really like it) with all Target items to show you what I wish I was wearing and just how easy it is too look cute on a budget.

Instead of the make-believe outfit I posted last week on WIWIW Wednesday (see here), I would actually 100% rock this outfit in real life (fur vests intimidate me, what can I say). I actually own this striped shirt and am in need of this awesome cobalt blue jacket. The pants and the snakeskin bag are so classic and neutral, which is needed with all the bright blue. The shoes keep the outfit functional and round out the blue theme and echo the buttons on the jacket.

Where would you wear this outfit (or what are your Wednesday plans)? Let me know in the comments!

Classy Winter

Classy Winter by styleontarget featuring a knit hat

I swear every blog this winter is featuring vests, particularly fur vests. While I love the look of a fake fur vest on my blogging counterparts, I simply can’t seem to work it into my every day wardrobe. So since this is an imaginary situation – in which, I have endless money to buy things at Target to wear – I decided to “try” out this trend. I actually owe these black jeans (love them) and have asked for this sweater for Christmas. So fingers crossed that I might get to style these items together in real life at some point!

Would you work a fur vest?

Winter White
*So a feature that I am going to run on Wednesdays (instead of a daily outfit post) is called “What I Wish I Wore Wednesday.” I’ll be piecing together an outfit on Polyvore (which I have never used before blogging, but I really like it) with all Target items to show you what I wish I was wearing and just how easy it is too look cute on a budget.

I obsess over this winter white jacket and these brown ankle boot wedges every time I am at Target. I am notorious for spilling things on myself (all the time), so a white jacket isn’t a good piece for me, but I do love the fit of this one and how crisp it looks. These boots have a 3 inch heel, so not ideal for me either (I’m 5’9″), but my friend from work has them, and they look J. Crew quality for much much less. I haven’t seen the dress or the earrings in store, but I love the color mixing in this one. Plus, who doesn’t need a bold polka dot tight? I know I do.

What do you think?  And happy (early) Thanksgiving to my readers!

Black and Gray

So a feature that I am going to run on Wednesdays (possibly along with a daily outfit post) is called “What I Wish I Wore Wednesday.” I’ll be piecing together an outfit on Polyvore (which I have never used before blogging, but I really like it) with all Target items to show you what I wish I was wearing and just how easy it is too look cute on a budget. My obsession with Target will never end… I posted this one on a Saturday, because I am having too much fun.

Houndstooth is a huge trend this fall/winter, and I really like how this sweater is in a traditional pattern, but in a non-traditional color scheme (gray and white vs. the standard black and white). I own a pair of shoes from Target like these (cough in three different colors cough), and they are a common work wear item for me. The skirt provides a pop of color from the cobalt shade and looks to be super comfy. I think the necklace would nicely tie it all  together and give it some pizzazz.

What do you think? Would you wear this?
