Oh look, two of my favorite patterns (stripes and polka dots) together in one look? She’s soooo original! I kept it business appropriate with a nice crisp and bright white collared shirt and pencil skirt, but the shoes and the statement earrings keep it fun and a bit quirky, which as you, my dear readers know, is how I like to rock it here on Style On Target.

I’d love a day off this week. Some weeks, you just need a mental health day. Do you guys ever feel that way? I’m not going to use my vacation days this week (saving up for some other events this year)…but to get me through this week? I’m pretending like I’m wearing this for a day of sightseeing in downtown Indianapolis. Here’s hoping that will help get me through the week!

What do you think of this day off look? Would you rock it on a weekend or a free day off of work?

Items from the Look:

  • Merona Colorblock Cardigan
  • Denizen Skinny Jeans (my favorite jeans from Target…and maybe ever?)
  • Xhilaration Graphic Tee
  • Cuff Bracelet

So I showed you how cute I look in the dressing room reviewing some prints, but I didn’t want to leave the Peter Pilotto collection behind just yet. Apparently, it set sales records, and I love seeing people on Instagram rocking the items. I’m still on the fence about getting anything, but wanted to play around with this black and white skirt (here), since it was my favorite piece of the collection.I kept it fairly basic with pops of color from an awesome statement necklace.

What do you think? Have you bought anything from the collection yet?

What I Wish I Wore, Vol. 14 – Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day

Happy (early) Valentine’s Day to my dear readers! Consider this your electronic box of chocolates (at least it is calorie free?), flowers, and jewelry. I’m not a huge fan of pink or those candy hearts, but I can embrace them for a made-up holiday that gives me a good excuse to show some extra love for my loved ones.

Last week’s What I Wore Wednesday post also featured a maroon piece with leather sleeves, but this look creates a whole different vibe with a heart watch, romantic sweater tights, and sweet flats. That’s the beautiful of mixing and matching pieces to create different looks.

What are your Valentine’s Day plans? Big fancy night out on the town? Making dinner at home? Girl date out with karaoke? Tacos from a hole-in-the-wall restaurant and a movie at home with your puppy (not like anyone I know is doing that ;))? Whatever you’re doing, enjoy it friends!

Fierce look, huh? To be honest with you, I’m not sure I could ever actually pull off this outfit, unless I was going out on Friday/Saturday night. This would not be practical for the office nor would it really work at the grocery store. However, there is something to be said about tees with leather sleeves, a bold printed pant, and some kick-butt shoes (spikes, yikes). Here’s for being a strong women and showing it (literally on your sleeve).

All together these pieces communicate a tough girl vibe, but separately, paired with other pieces, they could come off girly (those printed pants and a pink sweater) or sporty (tee with a pencil skirt and sneakers).

Happy Wednesday friends!
