Labor Day with Mumford!

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

I hope everyone is able to enjoy their day with family and/or friends (or just sitting on the couch surfing the internet because you don’t have to work…because I do that on holidays from work too). Also, does anyone say surfing the internet any more?

Chad, my fiance, and I are headed to the Mumford & Sons concert tonight in Indianapolis with his parents, and I could not be more excited about it. They are such a cool band, and we get to listen to them perform outside at a neat venue (where I saw my first concert…the Spice Girls with my aunt, such a cool kid).  Anyways, I wanted a cool, concert-going outfit, and just scored these red jeans yesterday (I know, behind the times) while thrifting. I love red with black and white/tan, such a statement.

What is everyone else up to today?

Going on a Safari

I love me some animal prints. I love how classic they are, and how they can add a somewhat exotic feel to an outfit.

These jeans are from Denizen, which is available at Target. I just got them (note the great dark wash going on), and it was love at first try on. These seem to fit great no matter how long I wear them. They definitely have some stretch in them, which makes me feel like they have a great custom fit. Plus they came in longs and shorts…which is beyond great when you are 5’9″. Long legs = rough life (at least with finding pants to wear).

All Blue Everything

What would you even call the print of this skirt? 50 Shades of Blue? Blue-daba-dee-daba-da? Blue print? Whatever it is, I love it.

I love all shades of blue. In fact, I love them so much that instead of having two different colors at my wedding, I’m doing all shades of blue. Like this skirt. Hey, maybe I’ll just wear it instead of a wedding dress. Just kidding, I already have that.

What color is your favorite of all the colors?

I Can’t, Ikat

To be completely honest with you all, I got this dress this summer because Jessica from What I Wore showcased it on her blog.

But how can you go wrong with such a classic shape, and I’ve loved ikat print my entire life. Plus, who can say no to a $25 dress. If you can, you’re a better person than I am. I also have this dress in the green/gold watercolor pattern, and I noticed they released a similar style with the new fall collection.

Have you ever bought something because you saw it on someone else and just loved it? Let me know if the comments!

Just A Little Lobster

Yes, I own a lobster shirt, don’t you all? I love pencil skirts, but I just never feel like I can get enough mileage out of them by just wearing them to work. That’s why I love this style math trick: pencil skirt + graphic tee = casual wear. I think the play of the dots that make up the lobster work really well with the hexagon shapes (more math).

I also love the way that red and green look together (especially when they don’t scream Christmas is here). Because, let’s face it, it’s Indiana in September…and it. is. HOT!

How do you get more mileage out of your “work” clothes?
