Yes, I own a lobster shirt, don’t you all? I love pencil skirts, but I just never feel like I can get enough mileage out of them by just wearing them to work. That’s why I love this style math trick: pencil skirt + graphic tee = casual wear. I think the play of the dots that make up the lobster work really well with the hexagon shapes (more math).
I also love the way that red and green look together (especially when they don’t scream Christmas is here). Because, let’s face it, it’s Indiana in September…and it. is. HOT!
How do you get more mileage out of your “work” clothes?
- On Target item: Merona Skirt
- Shirt: Old Navy (old)
- Shoes: Merona, Target (navy boat shoes, old)
This whole outfit is Target (dress, blazer, and shoes). The story with this dress is that one of my best friends and I had already gone shopping before ending with a trip to Target. I saw this dress, loved it, and tried it on. It fit PERFECTLY…like it was made for me. I stood between the clothing rack rows with her trying to justify buying this after getting several things at other places. One of my arguments (to myself, yes) was with a blazer or cardigan, this dress could make it to workwear. I think I achieved just that, but let me know what you think, okay? Before my boss sees it?
- On Target item: Xhilaration Dress, (still available in 16 online, but check out the new patterns also)
- Blazer: Mossimo, Target (on clearance online!)
- Shoes: Target (old)
See, told you I love a good stripe. This tee is one of the most versatile items I own. It goes with anything and everything, and it is even better because it is so soft. Target makes them in tons of colors, but the grey is by far my favorite.
it Guys, three out of the four things I am wearing…I thrifted! I am almost as obsessed with thrifting as shopping at Target, but more on that later. So, do you like stripes or are you more of a polka (dot) person?
- On Target item: Mossimo Tee, (mine is grey without a pocket)
- Necklace: thrifted
- Shorts: Adidas, thrifted
- Shoes: thirfted
Polka dots and stripes hold a special place in my heart. So classic and so perfect for every day use. They pretty much make a classically styled outfit much more special and chic. The skirt was a score from Target, since I have seen a lot of similar styles at more expensive stores. Yes, I realize now that this shirt is gaping, but at least you can see one way to style this (and apparently using this blog will show me what fits and what doesn’t…yikes!).

- Shirt: Merona, Target
- Shoes: St. John’s Bay, JC Penney
Hi, I’m Katie.
I’m 26 years old and obsessed with Target. I go there usually one a week and can ALWAYS find something that I want to take home with me. I realize that a symptom that many people out there can experience. I had an idea to start this blog in order to document how fun and affordable style can be, when I realized one day last week that I had an whole outfit of Target apparel on (right down to my purse and shoes). I figured since nearly half my wardrobe is Target, I should start documenting how to work these inexpensive items into my everyday style. This blog will aim to show you how versatile, affordable, and fun Target items can be.
The goal is to work at least one item from Target (either apparel, shoes, or an accessory) into a day’s look (hence the name of this blog: Style On Target). Please note that this blog is 100% unaffiliated with Target at this present time, and everything I show from them was purchased with my own money over the course of the last 4-5 years (so some items might not be currently available).
