Fall Capsule #1: Out of the Woods

As I mentioned on Friday, The Husband and I had taken the day off from work to go on a hike in Brown County, Indiana, and we were worried about the rain ruining our plans (oh and it was gonna be coooooold). We had planned on Thursday night to not go at all, but woke up on Friday morning and didn’t really want to give up our original plans.

So off we went (blasting Taylor Swift the entire way).

We arrived right after 9:00am and seemed to have the whole park to ourselves, which NEVER happens. The leaves were pretty much gone, but we still enjoyed our 1.5 hour hike together, and it was still really gorgeous.

And then we got pizza! If you ever find yourself in the gorgeous college town of Bloomington, Indiana (home to my Alma mater Indiana University), then please stop for lunch or dinner at Mother Bear’s pizza. You can thank me later.

The rest of the weekend was chill and full of good food, which is very important. And Target came to my website and pinned this picture. SUPER, SUPER EXCITING!

Hope you all had an equally great weekend as well!

Ps. And this coat came up for sale on Friday, and I had to have it. I missed out on it last year, and that was not about to happen again. My favorite color combo? On an item that I am eligible to purchase? Plus, an additional discount AND 31% off and free shipping (thanks Halloween)? Done and done.

American Eagle Jeans Experience, Part 1

American Eagle asked little old me to try out their new jean buying experience (here).

Now bear with me, I probably haven’t been in an American Eagle store (let alone bought anything from them) in years! But, I was super excited to revisit a store that stole acquired so much money from my teenage self!

I headed to AE’s website to start my experience and found so many options! 22 fits. 81 washes. 84 sizes. That’s 149,688 different combinations, I think…math isn’t my strongest suit (that would be shopping!).

I do know that there is definitely something for everyone here, but the best part? None of the jeans that American Eagle offers are over $50! Score #1!

I love the breakdown of jean fits (skinny, straight, high-rise jegging, etc.) and how there was a model demonstrating the look of each fit. And Score #2? The jeans come in 4 different lengths: short, regular, long, and x-long. This is a blessing for everyone really (us tall girls and you short girls out there too)!

Plus, there is free shipping AND free return shipping (this rarely happens with online orders) on jeans, which is definitely Score #3! This definitely brings peace to mind if you want to order a couple sizes/styles/lengths and try them on in the comfort of your own home.

I headed into my local store on a Friday afternoon to fully gauge these jeans. I was greeted by a lovely sales associate (seriously, she was so nice when I explained what I was doing) and grabbed some jeans in my size and headed to the dressing room.

Here are some of the styles that I tried on!

High Rise Leggings (these were my favorite) – these apparently now have Lycra in them to prevent the “stretching out as you wear them phenomenon”. I loved them and want a pair that aren’t so distressed.

Skinny – super flattering and not hard to get into (bonus points for that)!

Kick Boot – these might have been cuter in a darker wash, but I felt very country girl in these with my ankle boots and my gingham shirt!

Colored Jeggings – I loved these red ones. The fabric is a bit thin on these, because they are a true legging fit.

I didn’t end up buying anything this time, because they don’t offer long lengths in all the styles in the stores AND the straight fit (that I’m uber interested in) was only available online. I’m making my online order right now (cough blog research cough), so I can style them up for you in a future blog post! More to come on these jeans!

I’d definitely recommended this new AE Denim experience to y’all, and you can check out all here to get your own experience on (yeah, I went there)!
