I’m Bringing Fair Isle Back

I don’t know about you guys, but I am not a big fan of not being on Thanksgiving break anymore. Big fan of this outfit, though. I’m continuing to skirt the dress code at work, because these “pants” are actual black jeans (though they don’t really feel like denim material), and we’re back to business casual after a week of being on jeans week. However, I think they look like dress pants if you aren’t paying attention. So I’m going to run with it until I get caught! Don’t tell anyone (wink)! The pumps help “business” it up too.

This sweater is so comfy, and I pretty pumped that I bought the similar one in light blue. Like it so much, I bought it twice. I’m one of those girls. Fair isle sweaters are a big trend this year, and I am so glad. I love over the top sweaters (sign me up for your Ugly Christmas Sweater party), and these are a good, normal way to wear some crazy-ish prints. Expect to see this one and its blue cousin a few times this season!

I topped it off with my new necklace seen in this morning’s weekend Target Haul post. Almost all Target today! What a great commitment to this blog’s mission.

ps. Please ignore my squinty eyes. It was a weird combination of overcast and bright outside when The Fiance took these pictures. You’re here for the outfit anyways, right? Not my glamorous eyes!

pps. Target is having a Cyber Monday sale right now, where it is “Buy One, Get one 60% Off.” I would take advantage of this, but I am banning myself from shopping for clothing items until Christmas (12/25). Ahh!

The Keys to Thanksgiving

This is what I wore for our Thanksgiving feast with The Fiance’s family this past Thursday. I figured a sweater and scarf were appropriate for a family gathering, and the graphic of the various keys on the sweater kept it fun. These jeans may seem like skinny jeans, but they have tons of stretch in them, which makes them perfect for Thanksgiving. More room = more food = more desserts. That’s one of my many life mottos.

I’m putting up a post today that shows how I tied this scarf. I’ve never tied a scarf like this before, but liked the look, so I figured I would pass it on.

And holy cats, now it is December. I feel like November flew by. Now I have to find time to wrap the rest of the presents we have, purchase the ones that haven’t been bought, and drink plenty of hot chocolate before Christmas! I think I got this.

p.s. Check out that windblown hair in the first photo. Thanks, Indiana weather, thanks.

Here is a comfy, cozy post Thanksgiving look for you. I’m finally allowing myself to get into the Christmas spirit now that Thanksgiving has come and had its day. I got to enjoy the day with The Fiance’s side of the family, but missed my side just a bit. Sharing is so overrated. Just kidding.

Now about this outfit. So much texture! So much pizzazz with the sparkles and the color of these jeans (The Fiance has been calling me Red Pants all morning)! I’m loving this look mainly because it is so warm and comfortable, but still very styling, in my personal opinion. Can you believe that this is a sweatshirt? It is so soft inside…and it has sequins sewed into little polka dot clusters. Love. Love. Love.

I’m ready to cozy up on the couch and do some online shopping. Because you can never have enough sweaters, right? Right?

Cozy Leopard

Who snagged a cardigan from the little girls department of Target to be like everyone else on Instagram? This girl.

I am so glad that I did too. It is so warm and so cozy, and I might be a little bit biased, but it DOES NOT look like a little girls cardigan. It definitely is long enough – shockingly long enough in the sleeves too. Just a good reminder that great things can be found in unexpected place.

You can’t go wrong with such a classic print. There is this great pin going around Pinterest that is from Jenna Lyons, president and creative director of J.Crew. It says, “As far as I am concerned, leopard is a neutral.”

I’m with you, Jenna. 100%.

Casual Weekend

This is one of the few weekends in November and January that the Fiance and I are traveling, so I am excited for a chill and easy weekend, especially since I seem to have caught a cold and might need some couch time to recover. I made the Fiance take me out for pancakes this morning at The Original Pancake House, and we shared some pancakes (his: banana and hers: bacon) and downed some coffee. He’s off to a nerd card tournament, and I am going thrift shopping with my best friend, B.

This outfit works well for both pancakes and shopping, and it will keep me warm, as the temperatures are dropping here in Indiana.

Cheers to a great weekend!
