Ten Things I’ve Loved This Past Week on The Internet:

  1. I’m debating ordering these slide sandals from J.Crew Factory, because they have great reviews, and I’ve seen them all over blogs/Instagrams lately. But the question is…what color should I get?!
  2. Blogger love of the week: Lauren looks KILLER in this black midi dress, and I love that she’s already thought out several other ways to wear it in the future. Gotta love a remixable piece!
  3. A great polka dot tee for my great polka dot loving friends!
  4. I got a free $25 to Madewell through their “Insider program” for my birthday, so I ordered this silk bandana…and paid roughly $2 for it. Score.
  5. You guysssssss…my eyes are leaking, because of this amazing deaf singer on America’s Got Talent. Her story is amazing, her skill is amazing, and she’s amazing (and reminds me a bit of Ingrid Michaelson).
  6. Sarah has been doing my job for me…and finding the BEST pieces at Target lately, so naturally when I saw this colorful striped dress on her, I had to order it too!
  7. This police dog lost his job…because he was too dang sociable (awwwww). Don’t worry, he bounced into a new gig pretty quickly.
  8. If you liked this J.Crew polka dot dress (here), but thought it was too pricey, then might I suggest this affordable option from Old Navy (here – I love a good dupe)!
  9. My fellow blogger and friend, Nicole, put out her workbook: Feel Good, Dress Better (here), last week! I downloaded it and read it on the way to Michigan…and it is really helpful, thoughtful, and insightful. Highly recommend it!
  10. Love this breezy blouse in both red and white prints! Try it over shorts or tucked into a skirt for two easy summer looks!

What’s this, you say? A new outfit post? On Style On Target? Say whaaaaaat?

But yes, I’m back (back again…Katie’s back, tell your friends) and wearing my new favorite dress EVER! This was actually suppose to be my “birthday dress” (and still will be), but that’s still 20-ish days away. And that’s tooooo long for this impatient lady to wait.

So I figured there was no time like the present (pun intended)…and busted out my birthday dress for work last week!

It’s honestly the perfect piece for my closet (navy, classic shape, works with stripes, POCKETS!). For work, I covered up with a blazer, but I can’t wait to wear it on its own all summer long!

Today’s fun highlights:

  • Fridaaaaaaay! You’re here!
  • Maybe it’s the Olympics (just kidding, those hadn’t even started when I spotted this tee), but I HAD to purchase this graphic tee from Old Navy, because I have actually traveled to all four cities mentioned on the tee!
  • And let’s just say that that cost of the tee was a lot cheaper than the plane tickets to get there!
  • So like I mentioned early this week (here), I spent most of my free time watching the Olympics! I don’t know what it is about this year in general, but I’ve been loving watching all the events and the stories! Maybe because this year has been all about negative news, and the Olympics are a bright spot of pure joy in all of that? I’ll go with that! ;)
  • This weekend, I have no idea what we’re doing. I finally want to start watching Stranger Things, because it’s all everyone can talk about. Yes, I’m behind the times. Yes, I’m so behind the times…that I say “behind the times.”

Weekend sales:

Happy weekend, friends! What are you up to?

Welcome to the third annual Red, White, and Blue week here on Style On Target! I hope you’re ready for some patriotic passion timed especially for the 4th of July and maybe the weirdest election year ever! ;)

But never fear, whether you support Team Donkey or Team Elephant or Team No Team, you’re welcome here…as long as you can handle a healthy dose of the colors of the American flag over the next week!

And speaking of the American flag…could I possibly look more like it if I tried?!

I think not.

Today’s look starts us off with a bang for the rest of the week, where I think I slowly get less and less dramatic, so if today’s outfit is too much for you, never fear! It was actually pretty funny, because it was hard for me to come up with four red-white-and-blue outfits…when more than half of my closet is those colors! But never fear, I got you!

ps. I don’t know what I did before getting this little wicker clutch (similar here)! It’s perfect for every summer activity ever!

On Trend: Espadrille Envy

on trend espadrille envy; Style On Target; spring 2016 trend

Ahhhhh, espadrille envy.

The envy that comes from all the other shoes that don’t get worn enough come spring and summer time. Espadrilles are in my opinion, one of the greatest warm weather shoes ever.

Reasons:
– They come in a greater variety of colors/patterns than plain, old sandals or flip flops.
– They’re traditionally flat (unless you’re buying these beauties from J.Crew Factory), so perfect for walks to get ice cream or casual bike rides.
– They cover your whole foot so you don’t have to worry about updating (or not updating) your pedicure.
– And my number one reason for espadrilles? They’re super affordable! The ones I have listed here are all $25 or less!

So what are you waiting for? Bring some espadrille envy to your closet (it’ll make your other shoes appreciate you more, I promise), by checking out these options below.

  1. Merona Black Lace Espadrilles (also come in red and yellow)
  2. dv Navy/White Patterned Espadrilles (also comes in a black print)
  3. Mossimo Silver Espadrilles (also comes in black)
  4. Merona White Cap Toe Espadrilles
  5. Merona Perforated Cap Toe Espadrilles
  6. dv Multicolored Tribal Print Espadrilles
  7. dv Gold Espadrilles (also comes in silver)
