Back to the grind today! Today was one of three days that I’m working this week due to the wedding, so I kept it simple with some flats, a scarf, and a sweater. Nothing like some classic black and white with a pop of pattern and color to keep you going for the week ahead!
Just a warning, this week’s posts will be short and sweet, while I power clean the house, scrape together some last minute details, and decide on a hairstyle for the wedding. Have a cookie for me, please?!
Nothing says spring like bright white Toms and a perfect graphic sweatshirt. The weather is still on the cooler side in the mornings here, so this was perfect for today’s activities!
Today’s fun highlights:
- Coffee, coffee, coffee
- Sleeping in on a rainy morning
- Day off from work
- Marriage license in hand (one week and one day)!
- Lunch out with The Fiance
- Bike sweatshirts
- Survivor (the best longest running show ever!) – yes I am a nerd
- Grilling dinner is back!
Today’s not-so-fun highlights:
Happy weekend, friends! Enjoy yours while I frantically try to find a wedding hairstyle? Help?
- On Target item: Mossimo Supply Co. Bike Sweatshirt (sold out online – check stores; similar style)
- Belt: Target (old; similar 1; similar 2)
- Purse: Merona, Target (exact – see review here; tempted to get in black too – here)
- Jeans: Old Navy (exact)
- Shoes: Toms (Christmas gift from my brother, R; exact; similar; someone buy me these, too)
I love this shirt and had to wear it right away after buying it from Ann Taylor Loft this week (see my dressing room Insta post here). I might never wear another outfit again. So sorry that this blog was so short lived. This is the perfect outfit for me (okay, so not for work), and it only consists of three items. Three!
It’s got print mixing (leopard and stripes). It’s got details (peek of chambray, strip of studs on the shoes). It’s got classic elements (jeans, stripes). And to top it all off? It has a supreme ease and comfort to it. Sure, it will look ridiculously good with a giant statement necklace or a red skirt or under a vest, but right now, I think it is looking pretty good with just jeans and flats.
Amazing how an outfit this easy can make you feel and look so good! Do you have any items in your closet that provide such ease and perfection? Let me know!
Isn’t this flat wearing weather awesome? I love breaking out my flats after a long, dreadful winter (which apparently isn’t over yet, my hometown got 2 inches of snow yesterday after having a 60 degree day Monday). Midwest weather is crazy right now, but I’ll take the 60 degree weather we’re getting here in Indianapolis.
On Monday, The Fiance and I got to take a long bike ride to a favorite Mexican restaurant, and it was glorious. Exactly what cures the Monday blues for me: bikes, open road, fresh air, and guacamole (always guacamole). But it’s Wednesday now, so let’s boycott the Monday blues until next week okay? What do you do to cure the Monday blues?!
ps. Yes, my butt is still sore from riding the bike. Thank you for asking!
So I thought Christmas was next week, but when I woke up this morning, all the snow had melted (leaving our backyard to be a muddy mess) and balmy 55 degree weather outside. I didn’t even have to wear a coat to work. What is this? April or December? Indiana has the weirdest weather sometimes.
Here is today’s look. I am finally getting around to styling this city scene scarf, and I love it. It is the perfect all season scarf – you know how you have some for winter and some for spring. It definitely added a bit of interest to my otherwise simple outfit. I was so thankful this morning not to have to wear boots of any kind. These new ballet flats are from Old Navy and some cute and comfortable to walk in. I think lately, Target and Old Navy have been stepping up their game, and I cannot wait to check out the nautical lines that both of them are coming out with in Spring 2014!
Off to get ready for my company’s “winter party” tonight, and then off to Illinois tomorrow!
