Today’s fun highlights:

  • Guh, tell me this isn’t the most summer outfit ever? It might be one of my favorite looks on Style On Target!
  • It’s a full-on parade of summer 2017 trends: gingham + fruit print + straw clutch/purse + a fedora!
  • And yes, the fitting room attendant lady at Target told me this was the cutest outfit ever when I went to try on ALL the dresses ever last weekend (ended up with this one in the multi-colored floral…love it)!
  • Indy folks, we tried a new burger place in Broad Ripple last night called Burger Fuel. 1.) It was preeeeettttyy dang good and 2.) it’s apparently a New Zealand chain that decided to put its first US chain…in good old Indianapolis, IN (whaaaaat)!
  • No plans here for the weekend. Both The Husband and I have had pretty stressful work weeks, so we’re planning to lay low and enjoy some video gaming (for him) and some puppy cuddles (for me).

Today’s fun highlights:

  • Fridaaaaaaay! You’re here!
  • Maybe it’s the Olympics (just kidding, those hadn’t even started when I spotted this tee), but I HAD to purchase this graphic tee from Old Navy, because I have actually traveled to all four cities mentioned on the tee!
  • And let’s just say that that cost of the tee was a lot cheaper than the plane tickets to get there!
  • So like I mentioned early this week (here), I spent most of my free time watching the Olympics! I don’t know what it is about this year in general, but I’ve been loving watching all the events and the stories! Maybe because this year has been all about negative news, and the Olympics are a bright spot of pure joy in all of that? I’ll go with that! ;)
  • This weekend, I have no idea what we’re doing. I finally want to start watching Stranger Things, because it’s all everyone can talk about. Yes, I’m behind the times. Yes, I’m so behind the times…that I say “behind the times.”

NFL Style and How to Style a Sports Tee for Work and Weekend

Are yoooooouuuuu ready for an ouuuuuutttffffiiiitttt poooossssst (said in my best Monday Night Football voice)…

Well get your face paint and your popcorn ready, because today we’re talking about NFL style from NFLShop.com! You guys know this, because I blabber on about it on a weekly basis, but this is honestly a pinch-me-moment that I get to do this post, because I love the NFL, specifically the Colts! My family has been Colts season ticket owners since they moved to town (sorry Baltimore fans), and some day, I’ll get to inherit the tickets from my dad!

My undying love of the Indianapolis Colts didn’t start as early as I would like (cough I’m a late football bloomer cough), but I’m making up for lost time with watching every game, traveling with my dad to away games, decorating my Christmas tree with Colts ornaments, and naming my dog after the brother of our all-time greatest quarterback! Needless to say, that football love combined with my style blog, I think I’m qualified to talk to you about playoff football, NFL style, and NFLShop.com!

Today’s post is less about jerseys and nachos that you devour during the game, and more about showing your team pride out and about, especially since the playoffs are coming! I’m showcasing two looks today based around the same team t-shirt: one for work (casual Fridays…we call them Blue Fridays here in Indianapolis) and one for the weekend!

Be sure to check out NFLStyle on Instagram (here) for more great game style that isn’t just a jersey and jeans!

You can get this tee in every team logo, even though I can only really recommend the Colts (okay, and maybe the Broncos…#loveyoustillPeyton!). It’s team pride without being in your face team colors, so it’s perfect for gift giving (and receiving)! You can see the full line of NFL apparel here and start crossing your favorite football fans off your Christmas list and maybe grab something for yourself while you’re at it!

I also ordered this sweater that would be perfect for work (with tights and black skirt), except it was a bit too small, so I had to send it back for a size exchange. So if you’re looking for team apparel this holiday season, make sure you check out NFLShop.com!

So which team are you rooting for at the end of this season? Please don’t say Patriots! ;)

ps. Have you guys seen the NFLShop.com commercials? They always make me say “awww” out loud, because I know my dad would send me some gear if I had to move away from Colts County! They’re especially great during this holiday season!

Blueberry Party 2015

DSC058041DSC058371DSC058131DSC057931detailsblueDSC057981DSC058351IMG_64061

I did it you guys…I made you all proud of my culinary skills. I WON THE BLUEBERRY PARTY after four years of hosting! My blueberry cheesecake no-churn ice cream took home the coveted blueberry bonnet (for some unknown reason instead of a ribbon or trophy, my friend Andy always make a ridiculous Kentucky-Derby-style headpiece), and I had a great time hanging out with our friends and consuming other delicious blueberry dishes.

You can find my AWARD WINNING recipe here courtesy of the Food Network kitchen (mad props to them). It was time consuming recipe (there are three parts to the ice cream), but it was all very easy to follow and was obviously delicious, so I would highly recommend it!

However, with the highs comes the lows, and to say I had a roller coaster of a weekend is probably the biggest understatement of the year.

I discovered on Saturday that someone had broken my passenger side window and stolen my work laptop out of my car. So after dealing with the police, my insurance company, and my work, I feel like I need another weekend (and maybe a drink? ;)). I’m trying to take it as positively as I can, so luckily, my insurance covers the window completely, and I wasn’t hurt in the incident and laptops can be replaced.

But between the two: blueberries and break-ins, I definitely know which one I prefer! ;)

10 Things Tuesday (5.26.15)

DSC023721DSC023821DSC023901DSC023701DSC023621DSC023611DSC023911

Ten Things I’ve Loved This Past Week on The Internet:

  1. I’m pretty sure the fine people at The Limited designed this sweater for me…so of course, I bought it.
  2. Blogger love of the week: I think a slow clap for Sarah’s red, white, and blue outfit is needed. So chic and ALL of the stripes, please!
  3. I’m almost hit the buy button on these espadrille flats about 17 times…they’re on sale through Sunday, so I still might!
  4. 31 things you didn’t know about J.Crew. Some of these are super interesting!
  5. If you’re bad at hair (like me), then you’ll probably enjoy this article. Someone please come to my house every morning and do my hair, pretty please?
  6. You’ll see this lipstick coming to a blog near you (cough this one cough), but I wanted to give you a heads up about it…it’s my ideal red (color: Red Revenge) and lasts forever!
  7. Signs you are from the Midwest: this video is 100% me. Sooooo. do you have any ranch? (Or puppy chow?)
  8. No, I don’t own a sailboat, and I’ve only sailed for a few moments on a camp single person sailboat at camp (a long time ago), but yes, I still ordered this t-shirt this weekend. #nauticalvibesforever
  9. This zoo just had newborn cheetah cubs…and they’re the cutest things I saw all week! Runner up: this elephant selfie is pretty dang cute too.
  10. You can’t beat the price on this wrap skirt…perfect for the office and for nights out on the town (it’s an even better deal and cooler print than my J.Crew Factory one).
