Today’s highlights:

  • Has this week been the weirdest week for anyone else? I wasn’t actually convinced it was Friday…until I double checked my phone. I’ll take it, especially since this is my normal Friday off!
  • It is beyond FREEZING here in Indianapolis, so I’m spending most of the day curled up drinking coffee, snuggling under blankets, and obsessively playing this game (Stardew Valley for anyone interested) that my brother got me hooked on.
  • In sadder news, my great-grandmother passed away on Monday. We all knew it was coming eventually, as she was 97(!), but that doesn’t make it any less sad. She was a classy, sassy lady, and a huge Indiana sports fan. I’ll be wearing pearls this weekend and watching football (even though our dear Colts aren’t in the playoffs) in honor of her. Be sure to give your loved ones an extra hug today for me!

Happy weekend, friends! What are you up to?

Ten Things I’ve Loved This Past Week on The Internet:

  1. This striped cardi coat might be the BEST piece that Old Navy has ever put out. So chic and perfect for layered looks now and in spring!
  2. Blogger love of the week: Love this wintery-chic look from Sarah (and all of her non-traditional traditions)!
  3. Navy trench coat of my dreams! It’s a little early, but can you blame me? ;)
  4. Athleisure was a word of the year for 2016, and I don’t see the trend stopping in 2017, so get a jump on how you can make it work for your own life (here).
  5. You better believe that I will be buying this scallop hem skirt when the weather warms up! Pretty good price too, if you can grab it on sale!
  6. I don’t know if I have linked to this stripe peplum top before, but it is the perfect piece for the upcoming spring and summer seasons!
  7. 30 common shopping mistakes that we all make according to personal shoppers…trying to take these into the new year with me!
  8. These ankle boots have amazing review online, are on sale, available in most sizes, and come in two different colors…what more can you want?
  9. I’m really going to try to be more healthy in 2017 (me and my really creative New Year’s resolution, right), so I immediately pinned Liz’s 10 healthy recipes to help me get a good start on this goal!
  10. The Husband got me this weekender bag from Sole Society, and I love how much it holds and how expensive it looks!

Dear lovely readers,

This year I am thankful for…

  • Readers/followers like you who make this blog so fun to write and share! I’m seriously so lucky to have great readers and great blog friends! Thanks for coming to this space and sharing your lives with me (and putting up with my dad/bad jokes)! :)
  • The Husband who is my calm and steady force, and who also happens to be the best coffeemaker in this house (because coffee always tastes better when someone else makes it for you)!
  • Parents who love and support me (and The Husband) on life decisions and just general well-being (aka will talk to me on the phone about Colts football games and where something might be located in the grocery store or how to make it through only really bad lunch break). I’m lucky to be able to spend Thanksgiving this year with them!
  • A younger brother who lives super far away, but whom has never been a closer friend and confidant (special kudos for the WORST/BEST Guy Fieri impression ever).
  • In-law who make me feel like one of their own.
  • Friends who are really like family members.
  • A puppy who is the sweetest, most loyal, cuddliest ever.
  • Coffee, brunch, chocolate chips, and Bath & Body Works candles.
  • And a long list of other things that I could list for hours, because I am blessed to the max!

Happy Thanksgiving all, to you and yours! Have a great time with your families today and see you for some shopping tomorrow! :)

Rabbit rabbit.

Wasn’t that what you were suppose to say for good luck at the beginning of a month? I’m pretty sure that’s at least what they said on Nickelodeon a few years ago! ;)

But what about at the beginning of the week? When you’re wearing an adorable rabbit print blouse?

Do you get double the luck? Does the luck multiply…well…like rabbits? ;)

We might never know, but I’m saying it anyways. Rabbit rabbit.

Maybe I’ll get a three-day work week out of it…or something like that! ;)

London Travel Diary

Our first stop on this year’s Europe tour was London, mainly because the flights from the US to London was super affordable, but also because our beloved Colts were playing their first overseas football game.

They happened to lose (super sad), but we still were able to enjoy two days in one of my favorite cities! Two days seems a lot longer before you start to factor in jet lag and airport waiting time, but we still managed to see and do a lot!

Top Eight Things to Do in London (in the order we did them):

  1. Take In an NFL Game at Wembley Stadium – Okay, only if you are really, really obsessed with your team. It was a great experience to watch a super American sport in a foreign country. They don’t just wear jerseys of the two teams that are playing…they wear ALL the NFL jerseys ever. I even got an opportunity to explain one of the rules to some Londoners. Just another day of educating the world ;).
  2. Walk Along the Thames – There is really no better way to see London. There are endless sights to see in this historic city, so slip on some sneakers and pound that pavement. My favorite area to walk in London? Right along the river Thames, where you can see the London Eye, Big Ben, and all those bridges!
  3. Say Hi to Big Ben – My favorite landmark to see in London. And I never get sick of looking at it (I studied abroad in London and have been back two times since)! It just is so iconic and a part of a very important building (the Parliament Building). Fun fact, the name Big Ben refers to the large bell in the tower…which is actually called Elizabeth Tower (yes, after the queen).
  4. Pretend You Live in Buckingham Palace – 775 rooms? It’ll do, I suppose. ;)
  5. Visit One of the Top Museums – The Husband only got the chance to go to the British Museum (home of the Rosetta Stone) and some of the art museums the last time we were in London. So this go-around, we made some time to visit the Victoria and Albert Museum (which is honestly the BEST museum in London, in my opinion). The museum has 2.3 million objects in their permanent collection, and while you can’t possibly see them all, you can pick and choose what topics interest you (fashion and jewelry for me). And did I mention admission is COMPLETELY free?
  6. Ride the Tube – While walking might be the best way to see London, riding the Tube is a must! It’s so easy to figure out, and there are so many stops that you can really get anywhere in the city quite quickly. Just be sure to “mind the gap.” ;)
  7. Have a Drink in a Pub – Pick a pub, any pub! They’re all over, and sometimes, they have the best names! We happened to have a hotel right next to pub called The Fox and Anchor, so of course, I had to con The Husband to have lunch and a pint there. Win, win.
  8. Dine on Fish and Chips – Because while the food may be a little bland in London, at least it is iconic!

Our next stop (which probably won’t be posted until next week) was Lisbon! It was our first time in Portugal, so naturally, I have lots of photos to go through (#allofthetile!).
