I’m soooo over winter.
I’m sick of putting on snow boots and sleeping bag coats (cough puffer coats cough), remembering where I put my gloves, smashing my hair into a pom-pom hat (though I have a very cute collection going on), scraping ice/snow off my windows, and trying not to slip and fall on my way into work or the grocery store.
So please, please, please, Mother Nature (or that infamous groundhog whoever is really responsbile)! Bring on spring with its mild days, bounty of tulips, and sunshine.
But until then, you’ll find me over here in tights and sweaters (included this old sweater dress from Loft) and ankle boots….and likely buried under a mountain of fleece blankets.
It’s hard to look fashionable when it is 16 degrees outside, and you just want to zip yourself into a sleeping bag and hop your way into work. Guilty.
But other times, you just can’t let winter win.
So in those situations, it’s time to pile on your most fashionable items and pull off your best winter luxury look. And that’s exactly what I did on this particular this day with my camel coat, faux fur stole/scarf, and cozy black earmuffs.
Katie: 1. Winter: 0.*
*Okay, this might be a bit skewed, but we’re going with it.
- Has this week been the weirdest week for anyone else? I wasn’t actually convinced it was Friday…until I double checked my phone. I’ll take it, especially since this is my normal Friday off!
- It is beyond FREEZING here in Indianapolis, so I’m spending most of the day curled up drinking coffee, snuggling under blankets, and obsessively playing this game (Stardew Valley for anyone interested) that my brother got me hooked on.
- In sadder news, my great-grandmother passed away on Monday. We all knew it was coming eventually, as she was 97(!), but that doesn’t make it any less sad. She was a classy, sassy lady, and a huge Indiana sports fan. I’ll be wearing pearls this weekend and watching football (even though our dear Colts aren’t in the playoffs) in honor of her. Be sure to give your loved ones an extra hug today for me!
Happy weekend, friends! What are you up to?
