What do you get when you cross a style blogger, a J.Crew gingham skirt, and a budget?
A gingham skirt remix, of course!
Because this skirt cost me a little bit more than I would normally spend on a skirt (no regrets, though), I definitely need it to be a major workhorse in my closet. And don’t you hate when a blogger that you follow ends up wearing an item and then you NEVER EVER see it again?
So get ready for the OPPOSITE of that to happen here…and get excited to be sick of this skirt by the end of summer, because I’m going to be wearing it again and again and again. We might as well rename the blog, “Style On Gingham Skirt” (SOGS for short ;)).
And best of all? It might help you think of some new ways to wear one of your favorite skirts (even if it isn’t navy/white gingham)! Or it might not, but that’s okay…I love this skirt enough to selfishly wear and rewear it just for myself! ;)
On your mark, get set, remix!
ps. Check out Gingham Skirt Outfit 1 (in case you missed it…you know, last week!).
Today’s fun highlights:
- I’m all about the juxtapose of tough jackets with feminine dresses lately. Sassy and sweet…just the way my grandmas like me. ;)
- This week was a whirlwind of going-out events. Monday, the Indy bloggers got together at Punch Bowl Social, and it was super fun to catch up with everyone, meet some new folks, and get my bowl on!
- And then Wednesday, The Husband and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary with some leather gifts (third anniversary tradition, according to the internet…I got a stunning gray J.Crew purse that I’ll be sure to share soon) and a seafood dinner at Salt on Mass (not sure I would fully recommend it, Indy folks…though they did give us a free and delicious salted caramel brownie for dessert!). I’m a lucky lady (and a cheeseball for sure), but that husband of mine is a catch, and I’d marry him again in a heartbeat.
- And today I’m off work and running a million errands this weekend! Cooper to the vet for his yearly check, haircut for me, and dentist for me too (blech). But luckily I also get to see my mom for lunch…these are the perks when you still drive 2 hours to treat with your childhood dentist. Does anyone else still do this…or just me? ;)
Happy weekend, friends! What are you up to?
Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.
Did you guys know that you’re not a true style blogger unless you make that Devil Wears Prada joke once every spring. It’s true!
They also take away your membership card if you don’t say the phrase “pop of color” or “must-have piece” once every 10 posts.
So consider me safe for another few posts or so. Thank goodness.
ps. This Loft blouse is putting in some work! I love how it has paired equally well with black (see this post here) and with navy in today’s post!
Well, I’m not sure how I go around and beat the greatness of yesterday’s pun-filled post (here if you missed it), but my parents didn’t raise a quitter, so I’m back (back again…for all my Eminem fans), but this time with a bit of a rambling post.
Since I don’t own that beautiful berry-filled skirt, I have to make my own red and navy magic in some older tried-and-true pieces. Nothing like a good old remix with some closet workhorses to round out the work week.
On another note, some of you sent me some super sweet personal messages about my crappy week last week. I can’t thank you all enough! It’s so nice to be part of a caring and giving community. If you don’t mind, please send my mom some good vibes/wishes/prayers today. She is having her surgery, and I’m driving up north to be with her this weekend. Thanks in advance, guys!
Lastly, are those fleur-de-lis on my shirt or fireflies? A question that might leave you pondering allllll weekend long. ;)
