You know that scene in Sound of Music where Maria sings to the children about her favorite things, because they are scared of the storm? “Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens?”
Well, my lyrics would definitely have to involve puppies and polka dots (and coffee, NFL football, heels that comfortable, and chocolate chip cookies), so instead of breaking your eardrums with my singing, I’ve decided to share this outfit with you.
Your ears can thank me later.
ps. This shirt is from the men’s department of Target. Sometimes you never know what gems you’ll find in Target, and since I have a Target style blog, I get to call that “researching” not shopping! ;)
You pull out your ankle boots, and your felt/wool hat…and go to town.
Or you know. That’s what SOME of us do!
Even though it’s barely a step into September. And even though school just started. And even though the official start date of the season is…still 22 days away.
Excited? Noooooo, not this gal! #oppositeday
ps. Tell me, are you ready for fall…or are you a summer-forever person?
Happy (floral) Memorial Day! Hope you all enjoy your day off, eat something off the grill, and most importantly, be sure to remember those servicemen and servicewoman who have lost their lives and thank a serviceman or servicewoman if you see one today!
And after you do all of that, be sure to check out the following sales to take advantage of some amazing Memorial Day weekend sales!
ps. You knew I wouldn’t let a patriotic holiday pass without some more red, white, and blue outfit combinations, right? You know me so well! Plus, you can wear just the tee and the skirt today, and throw on the blazer tomorrow for work! Presto, change-o! ;)
One of the best parts of blogging (besides interacting with all of YOU and being able to justify my spending to The Husband) is interacting with other bloggers! It’s so nice to be able to support and encourage each other even though most of us live in complete different states and have never met in person (except, you know…when you live in the same city…heeeeeey Sarah…more cake dates please)!
One of the bloggers that I regularly girl crush over is Nicole from Writes Like a Girl . You’ve probably seen me link to her over and over again, but she really is a breath of fresh air. We regularly exchange gushing, supportive comments for each other on social media, get excited for each other’s blogging victories, and now I’m stealing her outfit combos on a regular basis! ;)
Nicole paired her look (here) with a black hat and fringe ankle boots, which would perfect for the weekend, but the combination of a gray tee, black blazer, simple-but-interesting necklace, and red skirt works equally well for the office with black heels (and sadly, no hat!). So thanks for making an early morning what-to-wear-to-work battle easy, Nicole, by letting me steal this look (and for inspiring the purchase of this skirt)!
ps. Would this maybe a monthly feature you guys would like to see? Aka watch me steal an awesome outfit from another blogger while giving them credit and putting my own spin on it? Let me know!
Describe your perfect date.
That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot and not too cold. All you need is a light jacket.
Thanks to Miss Congeniality for the movie quote that keeps on giving, year after year after year. And thanks to Miss Rhode Island for the outfit inspiration. ;)
ps. If you haven’t seen Miss Congeniality yet…you must (also, where have you been? ;))! Sandra Bullock is one of my favs, and I love her in this movie!
