All Target, All the Time

Had to wear mostly black today, because I am still mourning the Broncos’s Super Bowl loss. Me and the entire state of Colorado. Kudos to the Seahwaks for an awesome game, and the city of Seattle for their very first Super Bowl win. Alas, now no more football until August/September. Sad face. Even though I am sure some of you are celebrating the end of it, and the return of your husband, boyfriend, and friends.

Today has FLOWN by, mostly because work was crazy busy. I also ate buffalo dip as part of my lunch. So, winning?

ps. All Target outfit today! It was bound to happen sometime! :)

Pop of Purple

A Cooper shot for those of you who are missing him…

Hooray for Thursdays that turn into Fridays and cozy sweaters. This is another Mossimo Ultrasoft Sweater that happened to be $5. I don’t think I own anything in this color, so it was totally worth the $5 to add some brightness to my winter wardrobe.

Tonight, The Fiance and I have to start tackling our wedding invitations. I actually ended up designing them myself, so it will be a very large and very intense DIY project putting them together (spoiler alert: bands that bundle the invite/RSVP cards together). So wish us luck!

ps. Second to last day of Nicole at VV Boutique Style’s January Blackout Challenge, and this was probably my BRIGHTEST outfit!

Fancy Patriotism

Full disclosure: I have eaten waaaaay too much of the Chili’s chips and salsa that we got last night. Chips are my #1 weakness. So sue me? (Please don’t, then I can’t go shopping!)

More jeans at work today (and we get them Thursday AND Friday of this week too…so lucky!), and I’ve done a similar look with this blazer (see here), but wanted to make it just a little bit nicer for work. The riding boots and gold tassel necklace did a good job, and the fresh white makes it look much nicer for work than a heather gray tee. Blue, red, and white is one of my favorite color combinations, but I always feel a little patriotic when I am wearing all three together.

ps. On track and almost done with Nicole at VV Boutique Style’s January Blackout Challenge! 2 more days!

  • On Target item: Merona Tee (exact – 15% off online + extra 10% off with code: EXTRA10 today!)

  • Jeans: Denizen, Target (exact)
  • Boots: Macys (old, similar)

Feelin’ Freezin’

Fun fact: Winter never ends in Indiana. It’s a glorious snow globe of whirling snowflakes and bitter cold temperatures 12 out of 12 months. At least that’s what it feels like here the last few days. I thought there was going to be light at the end of the tunnel yesterday when it was 40 degrees (heat wave, friends), but alas, it plummeted to a high of 8 degrees here today. Sigh. So more layers, more pants, and no black items to be found!

On another note, I had a very nice weekend filled with love, laughter, and some tears at my bridal shower. Big thanks to everyone who reads this blog who came and showered me with love and raspberry bellinis! I did a ton of wedding planning on Sunday with a puppy snuggled up against me and designed some important invitations and our wedding program. We ended the night with a back-and-forth channel-surfing between the Pro Bowl (lame) and the Grammys (I love you Taylor Swift!).

How was your weekend?!

ps. Week 2 for me of Nicole at VV Boutique Style’s January Blackout Challenge! I realized I’m relying on navy to be my crutch during this challenge, so I am going to make an effort to work some other neutrals in this week! Want to join in on the fun?!

pps. I need some new dress pants. These are WAY too big.

Simply Stripey

snow shoes

Snowy and super windy Tuesdays call for a new favorite closet item (and tights…I didn’t forget them today, unlike last week – high five me)! This striped skirt from Target has been featured multiple times on this blog in non-outfit posts, and I finally got around to purchasing it and wearing it. It is probably the most comfortable skirt I own (super stretchy and super soft), and I’m obsessed with the navy and cobalt blue mixture.

I paired it with tights, loafer pumps, and a neutral sweater for a fairly simple look for work today, and I can think of many, many different ways to remix this skirt. I especially can’t wait to rock it on a summer weekend with a graphic tee and flats.

Still working on Nicole at VV Boutique Style’s January Blackout Challenge for the next two weeks. Today’s look successfully passes the test!

ps. Yes, my necklace has safari animals on it, and yes it is beyond awesome. Thank you!

pps. Don’t worry dear readers, my dad definitely made fun of me for my “dad joke” in yesterday’s post. He told me to keep my day job, which I reported to today. Thanks Dad!
