Black and white and blue. These are the colors that are going to be featured at my wedding. I like to think that they work well together, but my grandma? Not so much. Hopefully, she’ll change her mind between now and April, but if not? I’m pretty sure my wedding can do the trick. Humble brag alert.
I like how the classic black and white work with these pants (which can be almost too funky at times), and I am super excited to wear these pants with flats (and not ankle boots). February is coming to a close this week, and I couldn’t be happier!
So the sun came out today, and it was nice and temperate outside. I’m not going to call it “warm” like The Fiance did, but still, it was nice enough to take a walk with the puppy and not freeze to death. This was a huge boost in my winter doldrums, as the poor Midwest has been through a rough winter. I’ll miss my sweaters, but warm weather awaits!
ps. I wasn’t sure how many times I could remix this sweater, but my favorite color combination (blue and red) seems to work well with a bunch of different neutrals. Yay!
Yesterday was a hint of pink, and today involves a pop of red, so I’m got Valentine’s Day covered, right? In case you didn’t see this skirt in this week’s Save or Splurge feature (see it here), here it is on a real person! This was actually my very first purchase towards my February budget, and I love it already. I mean stripes…in a super comfy skirt? Say no more, I’m there.
Today’s fun highlights:
- Flowers from my love
- Stripe skirts
- Puppy snuggles
- Taco and guacamole dinner
- Convincing The Fiance to go get ice cream from Handels (not hard to do, folks)
Today’s not-so-fun highlights:
- No jeans at work today.
- Waking up to the annoying alarm clock
Happy Valentine’s Day weekend to you all! It’s Taco Time!

Dreary Tuesday here in Indiana, so what better way to brighten up the day with a colorful necklace from a European street market (Pisa, Italy to be exact) and a polka dot skirt from a major US retailer (cough Target cough)? There is something about polka dots that make me very happy. It could be their sporadic placement or the fact that they make even business wear seem fun. They’re probably my favorite pattern ever (or is it stripes…don’t make me choose)!
This skirt from Target is an “old” stand by. I think it was for sale in spring 2013. It looks way more expensive than it was, and I am obsessed with the Merona pencil skirts. They are super great quality for the price (usually lined and sturdy fabrics), which is just how I like my work wear.
