Anger at winter’s return.
Forgive the look of death I am giving you. I’ve got The Fiance’s cold (isn’t he the sweetest). Sniffles and head pressure galore. Plus after two blissful days of 60+ gorgeous spring weather, we’re back to snow today and high of 36?
Go home, Mother Nature, you’re drunk.
At least I like my outfit? Do you?
You know that how that one joke starts? “What’s black and white and red all over?”
Google it if you haven’t heard it before, but the answer can be anything. It traditionally started out as “the newspaper” though…hardy har har. Fun fact, huh?! But honestly, it is all I could think of when I pulled together this outfit for an impromptu two days of jeans at work this week!
This plaid blazer is pretty awesome. I haven’t worn it much on the blog, but I was pumped to add it to my Merona blazer collection. That’s right, a collection. It’s not crazy to collect blazers right…and it makes it sound much more sophisticated than “my hoarding of Merona blazers from Target.” I love it with red and really need to branch out into other colors with it. Any suggestions?

Black and white and blue. These are the colors that are going to be featured at my wedding. I like to think that they work well together, but my grandma? Not so much. Hopefully, she’ll change her mind between now and April, but if not? I’m pretty sure my wedding can do the trick. Humble brag alert.
I like how the classic black and white work with these pants (which can be almost too funky at times), and I am super excited to wear these pants with flats (and not ankle boots). February is coming to a close this week, and I couldn’t be happier!
So the sun came out today, and it was nice and temperate outside. I’m not going to call it “warm” like The Fiance did, but still, it was nice enough to take a walk with the puppy and not freeze to death. This was a huge boost in my winter doldrums, as the poor Midwest has been through a rough winter. I’ll miss my sweaters, but warm weather awaits!
ps. I wasn’t sure how many times I could remix this sweater, but my favorite color combination (blue and red) seems to work well with a bunch of different neutrals. Yay!
Yesterday was a hint of pink, and today involves a pop of red, so I’m got Valentine’s Day covered, right? In case you didn’t see this skirt in this week’s Save or Splurge feature (see it here), here it is on a real person! This was actually my very first purchase towards my February budget, and I love it already. I mean stripes…in a super comfy skirt? Say no more, I’m there.
Today’s fun highlights:
- Flowers from my love
- Stripe skirts
- Puppy snuggles
- Taco and guacamole dinner
- Convincing The Fiance to go get ice cream from Handels (not hard to do, folks)
Today’s not-so-fun highlights:
- No jeans at work today.
- Waking up to the annoying alarm clock
Happy Valentine’s Day weekend to you all! It’s Taco Time!
