When You’re Ready, Come and Get It

DSC056541DSC056631DSC056791DSC056601DSC056731DSC056811

That title challenge up there? That’s directed at Monday aka the worst day of the week aka today (it’s also a lyric from a super catchy Selena Gomez song*).

But this week (unlike last week), I’m ready for you Monday! I’ve had a whole three days off, and I’m coming off my weekend of easy-breezy-lake vibes. Which basically means I think I can do anything.

Printer out of toner? Easy. Angry customer? Bring ’em on. 25 phones calls and 50 new unread emails? Simple.

So let’s do this Monday, I’m ready, you’re ready. Come and get it.

*ps. B and I are really dorky and have this thing where we text each other Selena Gomez lyrics when we hear one of her songs on. Does anyone else have weird inside jokes with their friends and want to share them below?!

Fair-ly Fun

DSC060571DSC060771fair1DSC060681DSC060361fairdetailsDSC060701fair2DSC060731IMG_6386

Today’s fun highlights:

  • This is the first Friday that I worked all month, and first world problems, guys? This week was really really really long!
  • The Husband and I double dated this week with B and her husband, J, to the Indiana State Fair! And we had a super blast, so I just had to share some photos that I took while we were there (along with the outfit that I wore to the fair), so that you could feel like you joined us too!
  • Things that we ate (we shared nibbles of all of these): fried corn on the cob (so weird, but so good), s’mores shake (no idea who requested this ;)), grilled munster cheese on cinnamon raisin bread (salty and sweet), pork tenderloin, ice tea, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup popcorn (the best food part of the fair). Yum yum yum!
  • The fair is always delicious and fun, and it holds a special place in my heart because it’s the first place that The Husband and I held hands. Aww……
  • End the gushing, already. ;) Tomorrow is the Blueberry Party, and I’m totally going to dominate the competition with my super secret recipe (that I found on the internet). I’ll share it with you next week if it is any good (trust me, it will be), but does anyone have a guess as to what I’m making? Hint: it’s not blueberry muffins.
  • Yes, I broke down and bought the beautiful Michael Kors purse. #sorrynotsorry
  • Regular season football starts in less than four weeks. I. AM. SO. READY.

Those Pants Are Cute

DSC057741DSC057501DSC057241DSC057471DSC057552DSC057221DSC057681

BREAKING NEWS FROM STYLE ON TARGET HEADQUARTERS.

These. Pants.

The Husband said they were cute, which is a big deal, because clothes here never get complimented by The Husband. I’m not saying The Husband doesn’t say that I look nice, but I am saying that I personally steal all the compliments. I’m a compliment monster. None leftover for skirts, dresses, shirts, shoes, or pants…until now.

Sorry other clothes, I guess you’ll just have to try harder to live up to these pants. Better luck next time.

ps. This was the second time I had tried Old Navy’s Pixie pants, and the first time I actually loved them. I think it is because this pair is mid-rise, and some of the other styles aren’t. Anyways, I highly recommend them (at least the polka dot pair), and I might be purchasing a second style soon (maybe today)? Warning: they’re usually excluded from Old Navy’s constant sale promos (in the fine print), but they’re included in today’s sale (here), so snag them while you can get them on super sale (use code SWEETDEAL for an extra 30% off today only)!

Lacing off the Grid

This skirt is one of my favorites to wear, and it also seems to fetch me the most compliments. I wore this outfit last week to work, and three co-workers stopped to tell me how much they liked it. Mind you, this isn’t even the first (or the last) time I’ve worn this skirt to the office, but it always seems to draw attention.

It also goes with everything, because it’s a neutral color combination (duh), and a fairly simple pattern, so it doesn’t overwhelm, but definitely adds interest.

So moral of the story? If you want to be the talk of the office (in a good way), buy a black and white grid print skirt.
