Fall Capsule #1: Tie A Knot

DSC075311DSC075231DSC075201DSC075221DSC075261DSC075241

Today’s fun highlights:

  • An all Target outfit above…and they said it couldn’t be done (just kidding, no one would ever say that)!
  • Last night’s date night was lovely. I tried mussels for the first time and loved them (along with the 12 lbs of fries that were delivered to our table). Brugge, you’re too good to me!
  • Day off work (and it’s the first one in some time that I’m not traveling or packing for travel)!
  • Honey lavender tea and buckets of coffee to fight this cold that I’m getting.
  • Starting my first capsule collection this week and loving how easy it is to get ready in the morning.
  • Prepping the house for our guests from Illinois this weekend! The Husband’s high school/college friends are coming over to hang out and have a bonfire.
  • This means s’mores are coming! (Further proof that fall is the best)
Today’s not-so-fun highlights:
  • Sun is setting sooner? That’s really all I got for a negative. Booyah!

Happy weekend, friends! What are you up to?

Outfit 5

Oh, I See It

DSC065111DSC065031DSC065201DSC065011DSC065161DSC064891

The Husband (with his usual commentary on my outfits) called this my “honeycomb” skirt.

I didn’t get it for the longest time. I thought the pattern was more Aztec-y, tribal, or geometric at the least.

But let me tell you…after taking these photos, editing these photos, and posting these photos…I totally see it. And now and forever more…this is my honeycomb skirt.

Buzz, buzz.

Eyelet and Spots

I randomly pulled these two pieces out of my closet one Monday morning, and in my blurry, Monday morning at 6:00am wake up state, I threw them on without really thinking. 80% of the time when I do this, it DOES NOT turn out well. This day, however, I was a champ.

I love the soft white eyelet paired with the pink and brown skirt. Love it. It’s like Neapolitan ice cream…which is EXACTLY how I want people to describe me.

Nailed it.

White Out

This is the day I took home the trophy for wearing this much white…and not spilling a thing on myself. I’d like to thank my mom, my dad, my husband, and a giant stack of napkins at lunch for making this blog post possible.

I couldn’t have done it without you (especially you, napkins!).

Let’s Get Down to Business

To defeat the Huns… (if you read the title of this post, you know the song from Mulan is stuck in your head now).

I wore this to work last week, and it’s a trick I have to make things way more appropriate for work. It’s a trick I’m going to let you in on today. Lean in real close, it’s a secret.

Put a blazer on it.

Trying to wear a maxi dress that you normally wear to the beach to the office? Put a blazer on it.

Wearing a white t-shirt with printed pants? Put a blazer on it.

Wearing a cute dress with open toe booties that might not be office appropriate? Put a blazer on it.

It’s that simple.
