So I tried these boots out in the hopes of finding some Hunter boot lookalikes for less. The Hunter boots (see some here, if you aren’t familiar) can be seen everywhere in fashion blogs nowadays. I didn’t end up keeping this pair, but I thought I would do a review of them, so you can decide whether or not YOU at home might want to snatch up a pair!
- Price point (under $50)
- 7 color options (some classic, some funky and fun)
- 4 stars out of 5 reviews on Target.com
- Adorable stripe lining
- Cushy soles
- Weird fitting (slightly tapered?)
- Not even close to knee high on me (maybe I have long shins?)
- Sizing seemed off (online reviews on Target.com agree)
- Not adjustable like Hunters
- All around bulkier look
Overall, I just didn’t have a need for the boots and didn’t love the way that they looked, but the red color was spot on, and I love the other colors too. If you’re in need of rainboots, check them out here: Women’s Classic Rain Boots

Every Monday, in the Target That Look feature, I will try to pick a celebrity look that I like and show you how you can get all the necessary pieces from your local Target for much, much less.
Oh hey, January Jones. I like pulling together navy and black too (see here, here, and here), but I haven’t tried it with stripes and a leather jacket yet, so you win. You are much cooler (all your acting awards and nominations pretty much guaranteed you the win). But I might have to steal this look from you…that’s okay, right?
Target That Look:
- Mossimo Faux Leather Jacket
- Merona Knit T-shirt Dress
- Merona Black and White Satchel Handbag
- Merona Navy Tights
- Women’s Fisherman Rain Boots

It is a shoe party today in this Target Haul post. A week ago or so, Target.com was having a 20% off shoes deal. I ordered several pairs, and the three above are the three I’m keeping.
I’ve been pinning several outfits lately (follow me on Pinterest here) that involve white Converse shoes. I knew that Converse worked with Target on a Converse One Star brand, and I was hoping that they would come out with a plain white version. Thankfully for me, they did! I’m going to have to work pretty hard to keep these guys clean (klutz-extraordinaire right here), but I love them and the looks they can add to.
I also love a good pair of moccasins and have a pair of Minnetonka brand ones. I have been trying to watch out for a pair of cheaper gray mocs, and these babies were just the right price. I’m planning on pairing them with dresses and ankle jeans.
Lastly, but probably my favorite pair are these cap toe ballet flats. They have just the right combination of class and sass, and I know they’ll work with black pants and skirts at work and pretty much anything else for play/weekend wear.
I think I’ve made a good start on my spring/summer shoe purchases for some great prices. I’m so ready to retire my ankle boots for a few seasons.
Have you gotten any good shoes from Target lately? Let me know in the comments!
*Another feature that I am going to start on the blog is Target Hauls. Basically, I love to read when other people go and buy stuff, so I thought some of you might be interested to see the latest and greatest finds that I have gotten from Target.
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Target Haul post. Not because I haven’t been there, just because I haven’t had time to take the photos!
I got this skirt, because I’m obsessed with stripes and shades of blue. I had a $5 off coupon to use on this, so it bumped it from $23 to $18, which I felt was super reasonable for this bad boy. I got the black boatneck tee one week when it was on sale for $8, because I love the stripe versions that I have of the same shirt. I haven’t worn either one of these yet, but know that they will be wardrobe workhorses.
So, if you’ve been to your local Target lately, everything winter is pretty much 30-70% off. I had just finished reading Kimmie’s (from Blue Paper Lanterns) post about these Mossimo Ultrasoft Sweaters (post here) before bopping off to have lunch with a friend and shop the Target near her house. Kimmie was right. These sweaters (crewneck and v-neck) are super soft…and 70% off (so like $5.30 each). So two came home with me yesterday, along with this burgundy boatneck tee. I’ve pretty much been living in the gray one all weekend, so comfy and cozy. I’d like to think I’m done with sweater purchases this year, but you never know when a $5 beaut will sneak into your basket!
Have you gotten anything from Target lately? Especially any crazy winter clearance deals? Let me know!
Last Target Haul post of 2013, and a quick recap of the damage that I did at Target with B today.
My mom and I went shopping after Christmas, and she commented that I didn’t have this houndstooth blazer yet from Target (don’t worry guys, I have all the rest of them). I tried it on with her and told her that originally I thought it looked a little old lady-ish. She said it didn’t and that it was a classic and timeless print.
Well, for the one millionth time in my life, she was right. I couldn’t stop thinking about the blazer and how great it would look on (and in my closet). I tried to find it at my local Target, but they only had one left (hanging all by itself, but not in my size!). I used Target’s item finder on their website and found out that there was a whole bunch left at another Target nearby (perks of living in a fairly big city = lots of Targets). I headed there after work and found out that all the blazers were on 30% clearance now. Score! So I picked this guy up and never let go! So thanks Mom (double thanks since I used the giftcard from my parents to purchase part of it)!
I love navy. I love red. I love stripes. I love $7 shirts. I love comfy tees. (I love lamp?) Therefore, this little guy had to come home with me today.
Love me some good deals from Target lately!
