Black and white and blue. These are the colors that are going to be featured at my wedding. I like to think that they work well together, but my grandma? Not so much. Hopefully, she’ll change her mind between now and April, but if not? I’m pretty sure my wedding can do the trick. Humble brag alert.
I like how the classic black and white work with these pants (which can be almost too funky at times), and I am super excited to wear these pants with flats (and not ankle boots). February is coming to a close this week, and I couldn’t be happier!
This outfit kind of came together on its own. The dress by itself is pretty (though probably a size too big) but paired with the blazer and the navy tights, I think it really comes together. I love the built-in print mixing in this dress…and the red and blue combo, but you already knew that.
It was ANOTHER temperate day in Indiana, so it was the perfect timing to wear it. Some things just work out, you know?
Also, who is pumped that tomorrow is Friday? I know I am.
Guys. Indianapolis got MORE snow this weekend. I’m spiraling into a winter slump (as if I wasn’t there already). I want bikes and hikes and eating outdoors. I want (nice) dog walks and iced coffees and regular shoes (read NOT boots). C’mon spring…you can do it.
I had a nice relaxing weekend (filled with some shopping, whoops!), which was good, because I think this was our last free weekend before the wedding. Where. Has. The. Time. Gone?

Yesterday was a hint of pink, and today involves a pop of red, so I’m got Valentine’s Day covered, right? In case you didn’t see this skirt in this week’s Save or Splurge feature (see it here), here it is on a real person! This was actually my very first purchase towards my February budget, and I love it already. I mean stripes…in a super comfy skirt? Say no more, I’m there.
Today’s fun highlights:
- Flowers from my love
- Stripe skirts
- Puppy snuggles
- Taco and guacamole dinner
- Convincing The Fiance to go get ice cream from Handels (not hard to do, folks)
Today’s not-so-fun highlights:
- No jeans at work today.
- Waking up to the annoying alarm clock
Happy Valentine’s Day weekend to you all! It’s Taco Time!

This blazer is pretty much the greatest…think super thick ponte fabric with a perfect fit for the office (granted, the sizing does run small on this – beware). I had been wishing for a striped blazer for some time, because I’m obsessed with stripes, and this one is just perfect. I can’t wait to try it with jeans, skirts, and over a dress.
All the other fashion bloggers are having weeks worth of Valentine’s Day outfits with sweet, lovely, and romantic combinations of red, white, and pink. I can’t stomach that much pink (I’m a football-loving tomboy, remember), but I can do a hint of it in a sweet little belt, so that’s what I’ll do here on my blog. I think it adds a nice dainty little touch to this overall masculine outfit.
Maybe I will go pink and red crazy on Friday, but you’ll just have to stick around to see!
